    Morning readings

I don't know which long acting insulin you're on but apparently they all work quite differently. I was recently taken off Humalin I and put on levimir.....22 unit in the evening. This didn't help my sugars so I split it (with my nurses consent!) to 10 in the am and 12 twelve hours later. It's...

    UNUSUAL HYPO HELP!

Hiya. I was changed in February from Humalin I to Levimer. I became resistant to the Humalin (wtfreak?) and also wasn't losing weight on it and I went past 10 stone which isn't a comfortable one for me. My Levemir was 22 units in the evening but thst did nothing to help my sugars. I found by...

    UNUSUAL HYPO HELP!

We really did. It was amazing, thank you. I guess the change in temp and all these other activities may have played its part. I'm noticing now the weather is warming that I'm having more hypos. I current have two units of insulin to 10 carbs, I'm thinking I may need to alter that. Just as you...

    hba1c results

Are you not carb counting?? I don't have regimented insulin amounts, I just work out how many units I need from the amount of carbs I'm eating at any given time. My Hba1c is currently 7.6 which I'm happy with, I had a period of highs from the middle of Dec to Feb which freaked me out, it was...

    UNUSUAL HYPO HELP!

Hi guys. Do any of you relate or have any experience of this, on Sunday I had a hypo at 10:30pm wheere my sugars dropped to 2.4, I was convinced I was coming down with a sickness bug because I felt so ill (I wasn't it was just the low!) but my gosh, it took me 2 hours and a load more sugar than...

I find that although it says it is waterproof for 30 minutes, that it does lose some of its adhesiveness. I've started to use a tagaderm clear plaster over the top which is blumming brilliant (my daughter then decorates the sensor with a sticker!). I haven't found that its a 10-15 minute...

Blood sugar raise after change of long lasting insuin

She did suggest using it twice a day after a week if it wasn't doing what it should :) I'll see how it goes. It makes me nervous as I was on humalin i for so long and naturally was confident with it x

Blood sugar raise after change of long lasting insuin

I've just taken 10 this morning. I think I will start to split it. Maybe then do 15 at bed and see how I get on :)

Blood sugar raise after change of long lasting insuin

Thanks for that. I'm currently using 22 units. I wonder if I should be doing 2 lots of 11?? I was only on 15 of humalin i but obviously this had stopped working for me. My nurse said it should last 20 hours? Is this not always the case? I'm so confused!!

Blood sugar raise after change of long lasting insuin

Morning folks. I was diagnosed with type 1 in 2013 and have mostly had really good control. Before Christmas I noticed they were raising and have continued to do so into 2017. I had an appointment with my diabetes team a week ago who decided that they would change my long lasting insulin from...

    Blood monitor problem.

It's an optium one. I've changed the battery, it gives me a lost of my previous results but won't recognise the strips. I promise I've put them in the right way! I'm baffled.

    Blood monitor problem.

I've just gone to check my blood sugar after tea and my machine doesn't recognise the strips. It remains blank. I've changed the batteries and it remains the same. Ive also tried a different set of strips. Anyone else experience this? What can I do? I'm newly diagnosed type 1 and panicking...

    Good BS before bed

Hey folks. I've recently been diagnosed with T1 after previously being diagnosed with gestational. My question is quite a quick one. What's a good blood sugar before bed? I use humalin I befoe bed but am worried about a hypo if my blood sugar is too low at bedtime. What's normal to you guys...
