    Probably one teaspoon but not every day. I usually add them to salads and yoghurt but see no reason why they could not be added to soups and stews as well.

    OK, thank you! They are very hard to crush - didn't know you can get milled ones. Might continue to eat them whole as well for 'roughage'. Many thanks for your prompt replies, Bluetit1802 :)

    I follow a LC/HF way of eating and consume a lot on nuts and seeds. My question is, although linseeds, chia seeds and other small seeds are a great source of roughage/fibre, is it advisable to sometimes crush them to extract the nutrients as well as eating them whole?

    Hello you helpful people, could someone please tell me whether I should counting net or total carbs when trying to keep my blood sugar count at an acceptable level. I am pre-diabetic and do NOT need to loose weight. Thanks.
