    Merry Christmas everyone!

Love everyone's views on it and fair play to every single one of you! I had a half sod it attitude. Ate chocolate in moderation. Higher bolus for meal and my glass of Asti. Whenever my sugars were high I tried not to beat myself up about it. Randomly had a hypo after breakfast this morning...

It sounds like you are dealing with some anxiety issues here. Depression and anxiety are very common in us diabetics and the feelings you have are totally normal. I was getting a similar anxiety issue (not about driving but I had the tight chest and feeling like I had forgotten how to...

    COLD WEATHER

I understand that cold weather raises your BGL. I get really cold feet. Us diabetics do tend to suffer with circulation issues like that I believe. I'm no expert so please correct me if you know more!

Blood sugars rising in the night

Hi everyone, My DSN recommended I test my BGLs at 3am for a while. I have since noticed that they rise by about 1-2mmols between bedtime and 3am. Not massively high - the highest being 9.7mmols. Then drop by anywhere up to 3mmols by the time I wake up. Is this normal? TIA

    T1 and Lupus

Hi all, Apparently these two conditions can come hand in hand. I have both. Anyone else? I'd be interested to see.

So today I've had a Chinese buffet for lunch and chocolate this evening. I've somehow managed to keep my BG below 9 all day. But feeling guilty!

very poor circulation and extremely dry skin

Yes I believe it can be linked to high blood sugars. My hands get cuts in them and go so raw in winter. Doesn't help that I'm a PE teacher too! Bleugh!

    Sweeteners

Ok. I have lactofree milk which my dietician said is really low on sugar so I doubt it was that. So as you said it must have been a delayed rise. Thank you

    Sweeteners

Hi, Do sweeteners increase bg levels? Yesterday evening my bloods were 7.6 2 hours after my meal. I had a cup of tea with a sweetener in it. An hour later I tested before going to bed and saw that my bloods had increased to 8.2. Would it have been the sweetener that did it? TIA
