    Best thing to do is get a glucose monitor. If your doctor wont give you one try the sd codefree as the strips are alot cheaper than others. Test before you eat, then 2 hours later, your looking for any rise to be less than 2mmol at 2 hours. See how you go, you may be able to tolerate some...

    Bread is my nemesis, i can't eat any. Try less bread in one meal next time, but you may find it's too much. There is a low carb bread called LivLife which some people can manage better than a regular loaf. i must say though that i really don't miss bread anymore.

    Same here. After a year of my numbers going up and not losing any weight,i desperately searched the internet and found this site. I cut the carbs and hey presto my numbers came down from 8.9% to 6.2% in 5 months! Oh and i lost 2 stone!

    It could be that your not eating enough. But also it could be that you ARE losing fat, but gaining muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat. Have you found your clothes are looser?
