    Lidl's High Protein Roll

Thank you, Resurgam, for your reply. I've looked in our local Asda and they do not appear to currently stock the Protein Bread, nor Bergen bread. Perhaps I'd do better at one of the larger ASDA stores. We had a really good Waitrose on the outskirts of Nottingham, but that very recently...

    Lidl's High Protein Roll

Thank you for your reply. When I go into Lidls there's never anyone around the bread section to ask.

    Lidl's High Protein Roll

Hi I don't know whether I am in the right section here. Apologies if I am not! I was just wondering if any progress has been made in getting Lidl to start supplying their high protein rolls again. I haven't tried them myself but they do sound good.

    When will it end?

Hi Resurgam, I think it's amazing that you have reversed type two diabetes. I just hope that I get to that enviable position. So, well done. Do you have any blogs anywhere? I really did follow the rules. If I'm on any sort of diet I never mess around. I do it properly. Otherwise what's the...

    When will it end?

Hi I'm no expert, but this is my take on LCHF. Years ago I went on the Atkins Diet for a couple of months, and really stuck to the rules, having no more than 20 carbs a day, but I never felt well on it. Since being told by my doctor approximately 18 months ago to be careful with my diet...

    getting back on the wagon

Dear LucyLocket61. I've just come across your post and my heart goes out to you. On top of the loss of your father and your beloved cat you have to deal with coping with diabetes. It's not easy! So don't beat yourself up about it. A matter of months ago I was told that I was pre-diabetic...

Advice on food and after meal readings

My apologies, Resurgam, if I wasn't clear. On the back of the pack of two cod portions dusted with lemon and black pepper it listed one portion as containing 20 grams of carbs. And I couldn't understand why this relatively low amount of carbs could send my blood glucose levels to 9.0. And...

Advice on food and after meal readings

Hi It was 9.0 two hours after eating. Ideally, I'd like it to be in the 5's, but usually it is between 6 and 7. I'm not on any medication - not yet! Thanks for replying.

Advice on food and after meal readings

Hi bulkbiker - Really like the sound of the herb, garlic and chilli topping with melted butter. That's now on my 'next to try list'. It will certain liven up a portion of bland cod! Many thanks.

Advice on food and after meal readings

CatinHat Thank you replying. An interesting point you make about testing my BS before a meal as well as two hours after. However, I think I'm going to avoid having the oven ready fish, but that tasty coating just seems to make fish more inviting. I was reading the other day on this website...

Advice on food and after meal readings

Hi About 18 months ago I had a blood test done and the doctor informed me that my blood glucose readings were a bit high. I've always been into healthy eating, and I couldn't really comprehend how this had come about after a lifetime of salads, vegetables, wholemeal bread, etc, lots of...

Have any other low carbers quit dairy and noticed a big difference?

Thank you so much for your reply. I'm still finding my way around the site and have only just discovered your answer! I think I'm about to follow along similar lines to yourself, because I've been on high fat/high protein and my blood glucose levels have gone up. However, the last couple of...

Have any other low carbers quit dairy and noticed a big difference?

Hi WackyJacky64, I found your post interesting on how being on a low carb high fat diet made you feel really ill, and wondered whether you could tell me what you eat instead. I am new to the forum, and after a blood test about eighteen months ago was informed that I am pre-diabetic. I...

Why was my reading so high?

Hi Kim I think I love you! I've just given my hands a thorough wash and retested my BS, and it now reads 6.4. I feel so relieved. I'd previously used some oil on a dry patch on the base of the palm of my hand and it must have transferred to my finger tip. Bless you!

Why was my reading so high?

Hi Resurgam Thank you for replying to my question so promptly, and take on board what you are saying. I do try to follow the Keto diet, which includes fat, but must admit haven't had much fat today. I'll increase the fat I eat today and see if my BS readings decrease. Many thanks!
