    Type 1 Sickness

Last night I was physically sick and feeling under the weather. Today I didn’t eat until late when I injected for the first time, the correct insulin for what I ate. Yet my levels have remained high during the day 12-17. Do I not worry and put it down to feeling a bit under the weather and see...

    Hot Weather Issues!

I’m so fed up of the hot weather we are having. It’s playing havoc with my blood sugar levels. Anyone else having the same issues? One moment when I test before eating at night mainly, they can be normal between 5 - 7 poss 8-9 if had a snack within an hour before and adjust when eating and...

That’s how the nurse on the course told us which I thought was confusing too but couldn’t think of another way to say it at the time lol.

    I Need Help

Welcome to the forum. Firstly don’t give up. We all go thru tough times and feel like it, but dig deep. Everyone here is supportive - I’m fairly new to the forum too. I’m on Novorapid and Abasaglar. It took me awhile to get my insulin levels right and to be honest I still have to play around...

I knew I’d have to adjust the dose later to accommodate the spike. Thank you for just taking the time out to reply.

Type 1 Parents Don’t Seem To Understand

My parents haven’t seemed to get in the 8 years I’ve been diagnosed that things like eating etc have to take a president sometimes. I’m fed of trying to drill it into them as well. I know I should probably speak up more but when ever I do they say well why didn’t you say and OMG are you ok do we...

    Rise in levels

I’m trying a different pen at the moment as had wondered that as it only seems to be since I was using the previous one. Will see what happens. Hope it’s not another cold as still getting over the last! Thank you

    Rise in levels

Yes that seems to be the norm :/. I’ve just been on a Reacct course and don’t think I can split my Abasaglar. I didn’t eat the first time I tested but yes guess your right I could have corrected them as you don’t need to eat to correct. Thank you.

    Rise in levels

Hi all I did my bloods this morning at 7.30 and they came back as 10.9. Got to work and retook at 8.50 when I ate and they’d gone up to 12.8. I’ve been told this could be dawn phenomenon as it does happen regularly. I worked out the carbs in my breakfast and injected for that plus a small...

    Type 1 Buffet lunches

Sadly I’ve got a funeral to attend this week and there will be a buffet after. Last time I had a buffet lunch, first since being in insulin, I took my bloods before eating, worked out what I thought I was going to eat so injected accordingly. I then ate precisely that plus a little bit more so...

Type 1 Not sure if insulin went in

Although I’ve been a diabetic now for nearly 8 years I was changed from type 2 to type 1 in June last year after a DKA episode and two nights in hospital then put on insulin. It’s the first time this happened. Instinct was telling me not to inject again but good to have the back up thank you...
