    Breakfast

Personally, I'd say that the often enormous amounts of sugar in fruit is pretty bad for you if you have a tendancy towards sub-optimal blood sugar control.

    Libre - day 4

How did the high carb breakfast go? I have just a few more hours on my Libre... will probably try having a more balanced diet with some low GI carbs for 3-4 weeks to see what the impact on my BS levels is, also to see impact of running which I haven't been able to do due to injury.

    Libre - day 4

Littlegreycat - very interesting and that's very similar to my level behaviour. Typically wake up between 4.8 & 6.2 and then rises irrespective of what I do (bear in mind I haven't tested myself with high carb early morning foods) until about lunchtime then decreases. and hovers between 5 & 6...

    pre-diabetes, fasting blood sugars.

5.2 at 643am this morning per the Libre. One of the lowest I've had.

    Libre - day 4

This is all quite fascinating stuff. I have been reading up Dr Fung here: https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb/fasting-blood-glucose-higher He talks about physiologic insulin resistance, which could be what I have, and might explain why my recent Hba1C is worse. The question is, should I be...

    Libre - day 4

Thanks - this is very interesting. It does seem that my BS rise in the morning and recently I did a long morning cycle which actually resulted in high blood sugar levels (7-9mmol) and then only came down an hour after I'd stopped (but then were much lower the next day, was 4.8 when I woke up...

    Libre - day 4

Hi all, Following from my previous thread... I've now had the Libre for 4 days and think I have spotted some interesting patterns. It seems that my blood sugar goes up in the mornings and then drops later in the day, but it only drops when eat. I normally miss breakfast, but if this pattern is...

    High sugar during exercise?

Mine remained high (7-9) throughout the cycle and then dropped soon after.

    High sugar during exercise?

I'm prediabetic with an HBA1C of 42 (despite losing 2 stone and exercising much more frequently). As a result I've bought a Freestyle Libre, hoping to monitor what is causing spikes. So far I've noticed that my cycles (60-70km of hilly road cycles) result in high blood sugar during the cycle. I...

    Question on morning blood sugars

When is the right time to measure blood sugars in the morning? Woke up today and BS was around 5.8 but then rose to 7 as I lazed in bed and then fell again and is now 6.1 Is the rise to 7 very problematic?

    How has this happened?

With the Libre I get a constant read, and I'm scanning enough now not to miss any data haha I normally do quite a lot of hills with the riding so not that fast, 70km / 1,000m vertical ascent takes me about 3 hours. I normally average about 22kmh. My last ride was 60km and I had about 60 grams...

    How has this happened?

Think I've scanned about 15 times in the last hour... really must stop now...

    How has this happened?

Hi all, so I've bought an Abbot Libre and have just set it up this morning. Guess it'll be very interesting to see how my blood sugar levels go. Was 5.8 when it came on at 1030 and has risen slowly to about 7 since then.

    How has this happened?

Would you suggest cold turkey or reducing intake? What do I do it I get the bonk?

    How has this happened?

Can someone point out what equipment I'd need to measure blood sugars?

    How has this happened?

Yup, this is what I need to do. I am finding that I am just starving post work out... and I do crave carbs. What do you do satiate this?

    What is pcos?

    How has this happened?

Wow ok, this is pretty significant, I didn't realise this. Back to the drawing board for me.

    How has this happened?

Ok, I will go for this. I really need to get my blood sugars down. For those of you guys who do fasted endurance activities, how long did it take you to adjust? Presumably you started with shorter rides and then built up?
