What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Thanks, I have managed five years on from diagnosis, lost 7 stone 1or 2 more would be nice, but I’ve tried lower carbs but it upsets my other conditions so after several attempts I’m happy with what I do now, I think I’m going to put it down to stress, heat and thunderstorms!

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Not been on forums for ages, stress of finally moving home, grieving for my beautiful boy Leroy, stress of lockdown and the joys of rehoming a very friendly very quirky and very mischievous Senior Staffy. All during continuing shielding. Not been actual shopping since January. Love our new home...

Australian government reduces the number of glucose testing strips you are entitled to

Hi I have received free strips and lancets for 4 years without question I still test because of my other conditions no two days are the same, I can eat something one day, the next time I eat it I either drop below three or above 10. I need to know what is happening so that I can adjust what I’m...

Australian government reduces the number of glucose testing strips you are entitled to

Hi I am about to have this fight with my new GP. I have recently moved 12 miles, same county same CCG but different surgery. The unhelpful practice nurse who took my repeat prescription request on Tuesday told me I couldn’t have strips and lancets on prescription, despite all the advice for T2...

    Strange Head Feeling

Hi Is the ringing in the ears recent or long term? I suffered for years before being told I had tinnitus and now have hearing aids which produce white noise to distract from the tinnitus, providing you wear the aids. Headaches could be stress and frankly who isn’t stressed at the moment? I get...

What are you doing to keep covid out of your home

Very late to this discussion but we have after 14 months finally moved! I came straight from old house to new house, no deviation, no going past go. Hand wipes in hand wiping door handles. The house had been cleaned by “professional “ cleaners we were told, which made me sanitize all handles...

What do you do during isolation?

Well lock down not much different for me except Beloved is working from home which is excellent. Worst bit is that we lost our Leroy six weeks ago very suddenly to sepsis. Within a couple of hours from being his normal doggie self he was gone. Vet told us that there was nothing we could have...

Self isolation for 12 weeks ?????

I have other conditions as well as t2, my GP told me last week I’d cracked ribs in a bad fall 3 weeks ago and I was to ring immediately if my breathing got any worse and even if it didn’t I’d have to be in the 12 week isolation. Today the NHS said that they would be contacting all those under 70...

    Finally had my first appointment

Nope can’t find it even searching for it but found out lots of interesting things on the way such as if you buy your own strips you shouldn’t pay VAT, and meters that link to your mobile, but considering after three years I can still only just make a call on mine there’s not much hope of me...

    Finally had my first appointment

There is a letter on this site that you can give to your GP to put at least the lancets and strips on repeat. I didn't need to use it though. Surprised that if your GP was clued up about low carb not to realise you need to test.

    Finally had my first appointment

Hi @Rowsie for wraps replace with your favourite lettuce or cabbage leaf depending how much crunch you want, I use that for wraps and pitta bread and burger buns. There's also a low carb chocolate fudge, it makes 24 I freeze them individually and have one when I crave a little bit of something...
