    Experience with restrictive starch rice?

Thanks for the reply... Interesting... i got the impression from some of the info online, that the cooling should be only in the fridge, which did not make a lot of sense to me as the quicker it is cooled and sealed up in the fridge the better.... I just wondered f the slower cooling method made...

    Experience with restrictive starch rice?

I noticed after a bit of research that you can increase the restrictive starch in rice by cooking it and then cooling it before eating hot or cold. A bit more surfing the net showed that rinsing well before cooking to wash out starch, also helped, as did 1 teaspoon of coconut oil or other oil...

    Blood Monitors Compared

I really like it. In fact so much that I am going to give up with the Libre3 Constant Glucose Monitor. I am prediabetes so all i am looking for is Glucose levels and alarms if things go too low. This is super easy to use. Takes the tiniest drop of blood, and seems very accurate. No false alarms...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Wow!! That is great news that suede is low carb. It is one of my favorite vegetables, especially mashed with butter, black pepper and a small scattering of raw chopped onions!

BG upon waking 6.0 ... But I had a midnight snack of some salami and cheese!!! Skipped breakfast. Light bit of exercise walking around inspecting a huge project. What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Skipped breakfast and lunch. Prawn and okra curry with homemade keto Naan. The Naan tasted nothing like a naan and did not go with the curry, so I ate all the prawns and left the rest. Nice cup of tea to finish! BG 4.6 ... 2 hours after dinner and before bed.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

The hot chocolate that i made tatsed really good, not as good as regular milk but really not too bad. My levels after eating rise at most by 1.0 but usually about 0.5 or6.... But i am going really low carb and no sugar in this early stage.

7.3 is pretty good after that blow out!!!!! And probably well worth it. Does anyone know if the odd splurge is OK, and if so, which I am hoping it is, with what level of frequency? Once a week, once a fortnight, once a month?

Gosh i miss hot chocolate, but does that not push up your BG with all the milk in it? I tried using cocoa, half milk and half water, and Candarel, and it pushed mine up 1.0!

I find the vivachek "Eco Plus BLE" pretty good. It claims to be one of the best for accuracy, the phone app is thorough and the price of the strips are well priced compared to others on Amazon. I trust it more than my Libre3!

You did well. I am looking around for an alternative to the Abbot devices. Not reliable readings, and poor customer support. They are milking millions out of the NHS.

What does your MP say about this wonderful service that you have paid for?

BTW these things are not free even when paid for by the NHS. You pay for these via the NHS with your taxes. That is why we pay for the NHS.
