@MeiChanski @helensaramay the organiser of the Meatup tomorrow evening has asked that you could sign up to the Meet-up group for approval, I think she’s been getting some grief.

    Parking???

I’m very glad you are hypo aware when driving but I think keeping something permanently in the car to stop a potentially serious hypo rather than parking it in a spot that could cause problems to you and other people is probably easier and safer. I’m excluding acute hypoglycaemia that needs...

    Cerebral spinal fluid leak

It’s ****** rotten isn’t it. It’s relatively common following spinal/epidural anaesthesia but I don’t know much about any other causes. Blood patches are usually the ‘cure’ and the other one is time. Are you seeing anaesthesiologists? Post edited by moderator for language

Can I blame metformin for today's dreadful indigestion?

Rotten isn’t it. Is that common for you? I’d be seeking help if it were that bad, it may not be indigestion.

    Diabetic nurse

The surgery gets paid for your diabetic ‘care’ I’d refuse to go and you can tell the practice manager that under no circumstances will you be seeing that particular person agin and they are to provide you with the appropriate support.

At 77 should I really be too worried at a rising HbA1c?

You potentially have another 20 years on this planet, would you like to live that time being cared for or with the freedoms you choose?

Location TBC but BS1 or very close, 19.00 - 21.00 and because it’s small, this one will be more a social gathering to make friends and contacts and to sort out future meets. I’m not the organiser and they’ve asked for a quid towards the organisation.

Advice about metformin timing in relation to meals

There is no need to eat more than once a day if that’s what you normally do, intermittent fasting has been proven to be nothing but beneficial, humans are designed to eat that way. Breakfast was invented by a resourceful cereal manufacturer called Mr Kellog so he could get rich. As for the...

Home. The physical is healing, the mental and emotional not so much but I’m working on it. Gastro OPD appt and colonoscopy to be arranged and the definitive Crohn's or not diagnosis still pending.

    Ascites and acute abdominal pain.

You are all wonderful. Thanks for the PM’s and thoughts, they really do help and I have plans in place for my care and treatment. I’m happy to be staying in for pain management, not changing my diet and doing the reading necessary to potentially learn about a new condition but I have a suspicion...

There’s certainly no raw liver or juicy ribeye steak, that’s for sure! It’s a good reason to fast though. I’m attempting lots of humour because I’m concerned our WOE could possibly be the cause and I simply cannot ‘go back’, that frightens me more than the pain.

    Ascites and acute abdominal pain.

Thanks for that, it’s very useful in that none of that applies to me so I can see why they are none the wiser. Today I’m feeling a little more upbeat but still can’t stand up straight and my belly is still swollen and very tender. Just waiting for the ward round.

    Supermarket shopping

It won’t be long before you see that stuff as poison and feel sorry for those that still buy it.
