Toe nail seems seems to be partially unattached

Thanks all. Very reassuring. I'll def get it checked out, but no longer feeling the "my toe's about to fall off" vibes.

Toe nail seems seems to be partially unattached

Hello, I've just noticed part of my left big toe nail isn't 100% attached to the nail bed. It doesn't hurt and I haven't lost any feeling in my feet, and have no other symptoms. Could this be related to my type 2? A few months ago I attended a call for newly diagnosed, and they said to pay...

    Can I get drunk?

No pun intended, but that article was rather sobering. I'll def take it easy I think and stick to singles.

    Can I get drunk?

Thanks all. I reckon I'm going to go for it. I'll have a decent meal beforehand, stick to whiskey and diet coke and lay off the crisps etc.

    Can I get drunk?

Just googled "pie floater". Wish I could have something like that.

    Can I get drunk?

I was diagnosed T2 in Jan. I take Metformin, statins and high blood pressure meds. I don't drink generally. For example, the last alcoholic drink I had was a decaf Baileys coffee over Xmas. Some friends and I infrequently meet up and tend to have a bit of a session. If I were to stick to...

    Eyesight

I was diagnosed type 2 in Jan. My first noticeable symptom was my long distance vision deteriorating quite significantly (promptly followed by increased thirst/urination). When confirmed, I was put on Metformin. This sent my vision the other way, and my short distance vision was greatly...

    Statins for over 40

No. Sounds stupid that I didn't ask now. I do have high cholesterol and blood pressure.

Newly diagnosed with diabetes 2 - just received 2nd blood results

I've just spoken to the doctor about my results. Despite my HBA1C falling from 112 to 39, my cholesterol falling from 8.7 to 4.4, and my blood pressure falling from approx. 160/100 to 120/80 (all since Jan), I was disappointed to hear my Metformin, statin and blood pressure medications weren't...

    Statins for over 40

I've recently been prescribed statins. What's the issue with them? Are there negative side effects?

Not too sure how to use the blood sugar machine

Hello. Like you, I'm also on Metformin. Could it be worth checking back with your doctor? When I was diagnosed I was given two machines - 4Sure and 4Sure Duo (keto as well), and two pots of test strips. No advice on use, but YouTube helped. I manage my prescriptions online, and both the test...

Newly diagnosed with diabetes 2 - just received 2nd blood results

Omg that's amazing. Feeling super positive now. I thought it was just the Metformin, and I'd be on it forever. Thanks so much.

Newly diagnosed with diabetes 2 - just received 2nd blood results

I have high blood pressure and cholesterol as well, and thought it better not to eat too much fat. I bought some keto test sticks to use with the blood test kit and my readings weren't too high (slightly above average) and didn't want to risk going the other way.

Ketogenic diet: Post your keto recipes/what do you usually eat on keto

Not an everyday meal obvs, but I've made a keto chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting for an occasion recently, and it was amazing. Everyone else was non-diabetic2/non-keto and really liked it. I am in no way a baker either, so it's fairly idiot proof as well. I can't post links, but it...

    Cost of shopping

I've really notice our food bills increasing. More meat and veg, and less cheaper processed food. Plus things like konjac and low carb foods are really expensive for what they are. Having recently been diagnosed with diabetes 2, I think working from home for a year really hasn't been good for...

Newly diagnosed with diabetes 2 - just received 2nd blood results

Thanks Goonergal. I've really tried to change my diet. I've ditched the carbs and sugar, and try to be (relatively) low fat. I don't have breakfast. Lunch is stuff like a one or two eggs with asparagus/avocado/smoked salmon etc. Dinner is usually meat/fish and two veg, or I make a...

Newly diagnosed with diabetes 2 - just received 2nd blood results

Hello, Apologies if this is a silly question - this is all rather new to me. I was confirmed as having diabetes 2 in early Jan. My first blood test reading in early Jan was 112mmol. Since then I've been taking 4 x 500mg Metformin a day. My second blood test reading in early Apr was 39mmol...
