    Tresiba

Hello Still early days with tresiba, on my third daily dose of 30-34u. I was on lantus x 2 doses of 18u. BGs much better as I am now on LCHF but I wanted to tweak things to get my BGs better especially in the morning. It was a bit hit and miss in the morning and I'm sure I experience DP. I...

    Dominos pizza.

I love low carb and it's really working for me. No intention of eating carbs, just annoyed that about to have a team meeting where everyone will be scoffing dominos. Can't sit it out either. Just a moan. I'm literally sat there watching people eat loads of ****.

    Result

Great news, interesting that your doc was fine with LCHF when the results speak for themselves. Had a very similar experience recently with the DSN recommending I eat a slice of bread to "help" me carb count, when I told her I was low carbing and had great results (showed her the libre graphs)...

    contact lens background retinopathy

I've stopped wearing my daily disposable toric lenses now as its easier with glasses (bifocals needed now). Wore contacts for 15 years, found disposables better as my eyes used to dry out quite a bit, but that was probably due to poor control (which has now improved). I bought contacts online...

    Tresiba users.....

Just been prescribed tresiba by DSN. DSN was overjoyed with my BGs but I wanted to improve my mornings where I experience DP highs (sometimes 8-10). I'm trying to get a pump but I'm not hopeful I'll qualify as my control is much improved without it. Let's see how tresiba goes...

    Type 1: Nothing Changes

Absolutely agree. Although I love low carbing as it works for me, I am keeping quiet about this now. It will be "moderate carb intake" from now on.

    Type 1: Nothing Changes

The more I read on the forums the more relaxed I get as I have exactly the same experiences as everyone else. As far the HBA1c results, I got some resistance from the surgery, like why do you want this? Why not wait for the nurse appointment? I'm going to ask for another HBA1c this week as its...

    Type 1: Nothing Changes

Hi, thanks for the responses. I am saddened that a high hba1c appears to be expected as standard by the health professionals. I was 8.8 a couple of years ago, which was surprisingly good as I'd done nothing to help myself. I realise now that one good hba1c is just that. One result. This needs to...

    Type 1: Nothing Changes

Hello It's not as negative as the title suggests, but thought I'd post my recent experience as it just highlights to me how little the medical profession has moved on with its treatment of us type 1 diabetics. Technology has moved forward but speaking to the limited health professionals I have...

    Type 1: Freestyle Libre

I've been using the sensors for 6 months. As much as you can love a needle attached to your arm (or filament even), it has given me reassurance more than anything. I check all the time, everywhere, which means I don't panic about what my BG is. The cost is a bit high but I cannot go back to...
