    Statin Induced Peripheral Neuropathy

There's a series called something like "The men who make us spend" it's a three (I think) part documentary series about advertising. Anyway, in one of the episodes (I think the second) it goes into detail about the motivation behind the medical profession adopting the pro-statin mantra. It's...

    Statin Induced Peripheral Neuropathy

You are welcome. I'll be honest, I just find these things terrifying!

    New To Fiasp.

Hodders, fiasp sounds exciting in ways. I certainly would welcome something as fast as possible when my blood glucose has shot up and I want to bring it down asap. However, I can imagine it being hard to navigate just regular bolus injections (assuming you are on MDI's? I have no experience with...

    Statin Induced Peripheral Neuropathy

My doctors surgery has tried to get me to take statins for years. Luckily I have been aware that there are quite serious risks to taking them and I just don't feel those risks are worth a reduction in cholesterol (for me). I just noticed this in a google search and thought it important to share...

    New To Fiasp.

I saw a review of this on youtube. The woman using it said it felt like it stung more than her regular insulin. I've not tried fiasp but am curious to hear if many users experience this sting from it?

    Getting An Omnipod

Yikes!! I have never had a pharmacy try to deny me insulin before, it's just unthinkable! I'm so sorry you went through that horror!

Type 1 Has Anyone Else Had This Problem With Their Doctors And Dsn's

Oh god yes!!! It is infuriating that whenever I go to the GP everything is just dismissed. For literally years I have just been told "oh really? Well just look after your diabetes and see if it gets better". I know diabetes impacts and is impacted by just about everything but it really is...

    Levimer Pen Failure

I should do that but often I just take longer to inject, leaving the needle in and just pushing out a unit or two as and when until it's done. Typing that out I realise just how bad that sounds!

    Getting An Omnipod

Thanks for replying :) Yes, I hear the DAFNE course is required to get a pump. My GP did mention it before so I'm going to ask to go on it next month. I have seen some comments here about it and so far all of them have been positive which is encouraging. My diabetes nurse did also mention...

    Getting An Omnipod

Is it harder to get an omnipod than other insulin pumps? I've recently been thinking about switching to a pump because quite frankly my control has been awful! I'm really not keen on the tubing or having to disconnect in the shower (I can't seem to do quick showers!) but am concerned the Omnipod...

    Fenugreek (methi) Seed

Does anybody use this? I remember my T2 father used it when he ran out of tablets one time and it worked very well. I have also had a hypo after eating the sprouted seeds before but when I use it in cooking (which is often) I don't notice much of an effect. To be honest I use it more topically...

    Levimer Pen Failure

I'm not a fan of the levemir flexpens. When I compare them to the reuseable pen I have for my humalog (Humapen Luxur) they feel far less reliable. That said, sometimes the pen stops because the injection site has been overused but even so, this seems more common with the flexpen than the...

How Do You Quench You’re Thirst?

If your blood sugars are high then I doubt anything will properly quench that thirst until those are brought down. Generally though I find coconut water quenches my thirst better than anything else.
