Hate feeling low when your BG is above 5!

Hello again! The following link is quite known around here - maybe worth reading. It points out the importance of trying to keep ones blood sugar levels within NORMAL limits. You can find quite a lot of information about these things via Mr. Google...

    Accidentally frozen Tresiba!!!

Howdy! As long as it was not more frozen than, that you could get fluid out from the ampoule quite easily , it will probably still have effect. Only problem is, that the insulin's effect is probably NOT 100% anymore... Edited a little later: Eh, forgot to say I have some experience...:D

How can I sweeten my coffee?

Hello carol43! Yup, xylitol works for many as a laxative, including some other "tummy problems" I'd recommend stevia, but as almost all artificial sweeteners, it could give a little bit of an off-flavor (<- right word?). On the other hand - stevia is one of the very few artificial sweeteners...

Hate feeling low when your BG is above 5!

Yes - I have to agree with previous statements. 12 is a bit too high, and that will probably give you false hypos, when your glucose levels are going down. Especially if BS is going down fast...

Hello there! The first possible explanation that comes to my mind is: 40+ units is not a very small amount, so if he is injecting fast, only that in itself could be enough, If he is injecting rapidly AND it happens to be near a blood vessel, that together would probably cause small tissue-...

Using stevia in gluten free baking

Eh, I'd gladly give some suggestions, but your assortment in GB is probably not the same as here in Finland, sorry...:( Just hit me a few minutes later...Multinational mammoths are everywhere Canderel crystalline stevia (not the powder). A bit expensive over here though. Edited the next day...

Using stevia in gluten free baking

Hello! If I may suggest, I'd recommend a little lower oven-temp, and to compensate for that, a little longer stay in the oven. Moreover just follow the recipe. Depending on manufacturer of the stevia-sweetener, it is possible, that you can get a slightly metallic taste from it...

    Cold remedies!

Hope you get well soon! Here are a few recipes I would recommend 1) Chili and garlic - maybe not so fun to eat with a sore throat though 2) Extract from Echinacea Purpurea - suppose you can buy it in small bottles in GB too These "cures" above have only some effect, when you already have a...

Hate feeling low when your BG is above 5!

Hi there Danielle. Have a bit of a similar problem - I get tired, when my BS is around 5.3 mmol/l (with a little + or - variation). I also think you are quite right, in assuming it is because of having low BS often - at least I think that's the case for me. Yup, remember those days, when I was...
