BG levels have dropped to normal?

Phase 1, Phase 2? :?:  According to my Doc - a blood test that was taken last Nov showed normal BG levels....well, at least at that time they were. So if I'm correct, I've literally caught this at the start, which is why I think it's possible that the Campral was giving an...

BG levels have dropped to normal?

There's also something else to consider that I haven't mentioned as I didn't think of it. From February 10th, I asked to be put on Campral - a medication to help for recovering alcoholics. A frequent side effect of this is vision changes. Less frequent effects are Hyperglycemia and Diabetes. I...

BG levels have dropped to normal?

Dennis, What would be considered a 'high rise'? Or a spike? This morning - I'm at 6.5mmol(7.10am). Although I was up until 1am. Would that make a difference?

BG levels have dropped to normal?

Tonight has been interesting. I had what equated to 60g(dry) 'Batchelors mild curry savoury rice', with steak. An hour before dinner I was 5.7mmol. 1 hour : 6.8mmol 2 hour : 6.3mmol 3 hour : 6.2mmol Bedtime : 6.2mmol I note that I effectively rose by 1, but am slow to come back down. Or am I?

BG levels have dropped to normal?

Hi All. Sorry, this is longwinded - but I'd like anyone to comment on whether this is good, bad, weird or anything...... On the 30th April, I had a BG of 17.9mmol - this was the first ever test I'd had(and fasting as well). To put you in the picture, I eat ****(very high carb), I am 21 stone...

Does Metforim have a cumulative effect?

I'm not sure. Was nasty and I feel lousy today, tired and headaches. There was some popcorn last night to see the new Star Trek film..... Finally got some test strips and I'm reading at 5.4mmol. Have had to get some cheapo glasses from the chemist as my eyesight has gone blurry as...

Does Metforim have a cumulative effect?

I've been ill today - throwing my guts up... :( So, as advised by Doc, I haven't taken Metformin. I'm a bit worried about that - as obviously I want it to start working. So does Metformin have a cumulative effect, or does it literally work for the now, like aspirin or paracetamol? Cheers

    I'm fairly gobsmacked......

Appreciate that you are. I should be getting some strips - I have no idea how many. Not sure that they're going to repeat either. When I get them, I'll try what you said Sue.

    I'm fairly gobsmacked......

Lunchtime, after a breakfast. 6 is better than 17 is it not? Yes, there are lots of factors involved, but at that time I was 6, which I was pleased with, given the previously high number. I've been diabetic for 5 days that I know of, in that time, with the 10 strips I had, I averaged 6.8-8.8...

    I'm fairly gobsmacked......

I spoke to my Doctor today. Yesterday, I was given another blood test by the nurse and the results came in - - 6mmol. Six. Within normal limits. My Doctor was almost himself gobsmacked by how I'd managed to get it from 17.9 to 6 in 5 days. I explained...... But he'd like me to go on a much more...

    I'm fairly gobsmacked......

I was diagnosed last Thursday. 30th April. At the time, I was showing as 22mmol in the blood and my urine had glucose in. My Doc was fairly relaxed about it - as he is many things, popped me on Metfartin twice a day at 850mg and told me to stay away from biscuits, donuts, sugary things and...

Well, I just did my first test. My god, isn't there a ton of paperwork with the Accu-Chek??!?!?! Did a control test and all appears fine - and the really great thing...... I got a 6.9mmol/L reading :D I'd eaten about two hours previously. Bearing in mind that it was 22 on the Doc's machine...
