Hello all,
Fbg was 5.5 this morning. Today, I had two slices of low carb bread, a whole pack of macadamias late at night, and no exercise, so will probably see higher levels tomorrow. Sometimes wished I had more self-control.
@coby and @DJC3 -- Thanks for your encouragement.

Hello all,
Haven't posted for a couple of days. Fasting blood sugars were 5.7 the day before yesterday, 5.4 yesterday and 5.0 today.
@DJC3 -- great to see you back in the 5s.
@PenguinMum -- good result today.
@McHelen -- welcome to the thread.
Have a wonderful day everyone.
Hi @SaskiaKC,
Thanks so much for the welcome back. How very sweet of you. (Sorry forgot to mention it when posting fasting levels this morning.)
How are you?
Hello all,
@DJC3 -- Thanks for tag and hugs for the kind words. I've been missing everyone a lot, was just a bit burned out -- though feeling a bit better now. I am really hoping we'll be getting back to normal the semester after this, but who knows. What's been going on with you? I am sure...
Hello all,
Busy day yesterday, so didn't get a chance to post. Fasting levels were 5.2 yesterday and 5.8 today. Need to get back to exercising more (and maybe eating less).
Thanks all for the welcome back, @DJC3, @ianpspurs, @karen8967, @PenguinMum. I have missed you all.
@ianpspurs -- glad...
Thanks so much for asking, @ianpspurs, and sorry for not replying sooner. Somehow, my "Alert" function on this site is a bit dodgy and I never got notified of your tag.
Things are fine with me, had a spell of higher blood sugars for while (including one 7.1 fasting (no idea where this came...
Hi @Andydragon,
Have you actually been checked for Vit B/Vit B12 deficiency? For some, metformin can be associated with problems in Vit B12 uptake (from foods and vitamins taken orally) and one of the symptoms can be cognitive issues. It might be worthwhile getting it tested anyway.
Usually...
Hi @Tryingmybest,
I agree with @KK123 -- there is a decent chance that you are in fact Type 1 rather than Type 2 (no risk factors, virtually no carbs, lots of sports, and still rising blood sugars). In my mind, there is nothing else in terms of diet and exercise you could do to improve your...
Hi @coby,
Stellar HbA1c results. Lots of hard work, but really well done. Congrats.
The higher blood pressure results might have been influenced by "white coat syndrome," meaning that this might have been due to nervousness/stress while discussing the results with your nurse. For me, it's the...
I absolutely agree, @Dr. Snoddy. The journalism in this piece is absolutely appalling. Much of what is written is unclear und is missing important information. For example, what were the diets exactly, rather than just some sample foods. What were these diets compared to? The standard Western...
Hi @Micky72,
Please wash your hands, dry them and then take another finger prick test. If it still reads high, please immediately contact A&E, Emergency services or whatever it is called, where you are. These are dangerously high levels.
Hi @Cy18,
I am utterly convinced that I suffered from RH before becoming T2. I did not have a glucose meter back then (so don't know for sure), but I definitely remember being at a McDonald's restaurant and feeling starved to such an extent that I was no longer able to decide what to order...
