    food Yes or No

Thanks I have never had to test before, but will get myself a meter. The annoying thing is when I was first diagnosed and went to a diet session for the newly diagnosed porridge was one of the foods suggested as was wholemeal bread.

    Medication question

I have just been prescribed Forxiga and am wondering the same thing. I am taking Metformin and statins and I mentioned to the nurse that I was trying to reduce my carbs and she didn't say not to. After I read the info leaflet I had concerns as well, but it is virtually impossible to speak to...

    food Yes or No

The information about diet is very confusing. Part of the problem is we are conditioned to think high fat is bad but for diabetics carbs are the enemy. I usually have porridge in the morning with either cinnamon and a few blueberries or a small spoon of peanut butter and wondering if that is...

    ‘Stop Eating After 7pm’ Challenge

Hope not as I had a cup of tea at about 8pm but no biscuit (and no peanuts or crisps tonight).

    Possible maculopathy..?!

Aren't Carb Killa bars relatively high in carbs, although low in sugar? I used to enjoy Oaty Zero Sugar biscuits, but unfortunately they are quite high in carbs.

    ‘Stop Eating After 7pm’ Challenge

To be honest I probably shouldn't eat them, but I have never tested, never been advised to, so not sure what actual effect they may have. I am basically aiming to finish those I bought in the run up to Christmas and then just stick to a few almonds or brazils. Anyway I last ate just before...

    ‘Stop Eating After 7pm’ Challenge

I will give it a go although to be honest most of my eating after 7pm consists of a few peanuts or cashews or a packet of crisps.

    Forxiga question

That's reassuring, I hadn't had any reaction to other meds, hopefully I will be lucky with this. Strange some people say you need more carbs when taking it others say less, guess I will have to experiment. Thanks for your response.

    Forxiga question

I didn't think my Hba1c reading was that high at 56 especially in the run up to Christmas and had been planning to restrict my carb intake to lower it. It just bothers me that I feel fine and this could make me feel worse.

    Forxiga question

Thanks for your experience, must admit this aspect concerns me a bit, guess I can only give it a try and see how I get on.

    Forxiga question

Hi, I was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes about six years ago, currently taking 2000mg Metformin but my HbA1c has been a bit up and down seems to drop then heads back up to 56. Just had a review and the Diabetic Nurse has prescribed Forxiga in addition to the Metformin. I haven't picked up the...
