    Diagnosis help please

Do a little searching for "Normal Blood Glucose Level" or similar and you will find that the point at which BG (Blood Glucose) is considered to be diabetic is around 7. New guidance will, I believe, reduce this to about 6.5. You will have to await your Doctor's verdict though, as a higher than...

    More, erm, y'know

I have read several reports of the sudden and unfortunate results of breaking wind when on Metformin. It supposedly goes away, let's hope so, I think I will be on it next month so I will have to buy some thick underpants. H

Blood sugar readings and Standard Deviation.

As an engineer (retired) and a T2, I too initially treated my newly (in 2002) diagnosed T2 as an engineering problem and applied the techniques and mathematical approach that I am / was well versed in. I produced some wonderful graphs and Excel spreadsheets, and kept accurate records of...

    Marmite!!

Marmite has changed, it is now a runny and milder flavoured immitation of it's former self. On the other hand Vegemite is not runny, has less salt (but still a lot) and tastes much better. Vegemite is made in Australia, (sorry about the cricket you Aussies). H

Should we be taking Aspirin then?

My Doc put me on it 8 years ago, 75mg dose in soluable form so you put them in water and they dissolve. Much better on the stomach. Don't self dose, let the Doc prescribe it, he/she needs to know how much you take and in what form. Anyway it's free if prescribed for me :-) H

    Type 2 + Weight

I really admire the fighting spirit of some posters here. I to am a fighter, diagnosed T2 8 years ago I lost 6 stone, exercised every day at the gym, walked and ran every day. It worked, no more T2 diabetes, and so it stayed for 8 years, I am still fit, I have gained a couple of stones and I...

    Pre-diabetes & 'mild' T2 diabetes?

Just like sugerless sue said, but I thought I would add my thoughts as an engineer (retired, by gum things move along very quickly when your out of touch! ( electro /mechanical). Remember that T2 is progressive, so any catagorization is subjective. Pre Diabetic simply means that you will...

    How does T2 Progress?

I have not posted before so be gentle with me! I was diagnosed over 7 years ago, but like us all I don't know how long before that I was T2 or pre-diabetic, I suspect for some years. For those 7 years I have worked hard at keeping mt HbA1C down below 7%, in fact mostly below 6. I considered...
