Will do, thanks for the advice. I’ve had to buy smaller trousers as the others were falling down so I know my waist is shrinking.

    Results Translation Please!

On 9th June my “Body Fat %” said 37.6% (it doesn’t give any more definition). By 22 July it was 34%, but today’s reading was 36.8%. The weight was originally 79kg and is now 74.1kg.

    Results Translation Please!

Just seen my blood results on the doctors website, but haven’t yet had my catchup appointment with the nurse. This is my first results as I was diagnosed three months ago. I’m celebrating with the blood results, but unsure about the cholesterol ones. Bloods were 6.6/48.6 Now 5.8/40...

    Carb Counting Advice Please

Thanks so much for your advice, I was getting worried that I was doing something wrong. I’ve been sticking to my carb count and my three month blood test is in 10 days so fingers crossed. PS I hate Brussels sprouts, I’m definitely not going to look at those!

    Carb Counting Advice Please

Hi. I’ve been carb counting for the last two months (newly diagnosed type 2) and using the “carbohydrate” number on packets or found by googling. I’m aiming at 60g to 90g per day I’ve just read something that says “net carbs”, I.e. deducting the fibre figure - should I be doing this? Am...

    First Hba1c Since Diagnosis

Thanks for the inspiration. It’s exactly 60 days since my T2D diagnosis so one month to go to my blood test. I’m also following LCHF so to see your figures go down so much is amazing.

    Moral Support Please

I was diagnosed T2D just over five weeks ago and was fortunately spotted early - 6.6. I immediately read up on LCHF diets and I’ve stuck to it for five weeks, and am actually enjoying eating fresh foods, and tasting them. One of my colleagues today said “you’ll be really disappointed if your...

Newly Diagnosed, Trying To Be Brave

Thanks everyone for your support and advice. I’m enjoying the low carb diet (60-80g) which I’m surprised about and not missing the carbs or sugar, so I’m happy doing this for life. I feel so much better without realising I had a problem in the first place. I’ve got a blood test at the end of...

    New, Scared, Hopeful, Confused

Hi Chris, I was diagnosed three weeks ago so I’m a newbie too. I’m 51 and 10kg overweight so like you the diagnosis was a shock. This forum seems great, and really supportive. I’m following the advice to do a low carb diet. I’ve also been brave and told all my friends and work colleagues...

    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

I was diagnosed three weeks ago and have been carb counting (under 100g) for the last seven days. Got to lose around 10kg. Stood on the scales this morning and my weight is the same! Oh bum. But at least I’m feeling less worn out than this time last week, and I’ve cut down on acid reflux meds.

Newly diagnosed type 2 - have cried the entire weekend.

I can sympathise with the Friday afternoon news - I had the same news nearly three weeks ago. I’m sure this forum will help us both learn a new way of life. I feel healthier already by keeping my carbs under 100g. I read somewhere that people with diabetes are normally healthier than people...

Newly Diagnosed, Trying To Be Brave

Hi I was diagnosed type 2 three weeks ago, my reading is 6.6 so it was caught early. The doctor told me to lose weight (I’m 5ft 4 and 10kg overweight), read Diabetes UK and that was all the advice I received. My mum is also type 2 so it’s in the genes. Firstly, the forum has been an amazing...
