How Low Carb is Low Carb

Oops - think this was probably my fault - the only reason I mentioned ketosis was that C56 mentioned that she was feeling tired during/after exercise. It seemed to me that it might be a case of getting (what we used to call in the cycling world) the "knock" when your muscles just run out of...

How Low Carb is Low Carb

Would not disagree with this sentiment at all...."low carb" can be a broad church (no, not that programme on the telly where everyone gets killed:bookworm:) and what works for some isn't great for others....so yea, use your meter to track down what works for you and use that as a point to start...

How Low Carb is Low Carb

Hi Cinderella Some might consider 30g carbs per meal to be excessive.....I aim for under 20g per day and am doing OK on it.....at 90g carbs per day you will never get into ketosis and start to burn fat instead of carbs - maybe this is why you feel kna**ered when you take exercise? I go to gym...

    Wonderful cafe

Yes - if you don't ask, you don't get! I've found that most places will do some kind of salad if you ask them nicely. But well done.

DVLA regs for insulin treated diabetes

Link given by db89 seems straightforward enough - just click on the link for non-medical professionals or just google INF 188/2. All info you need is there.

    Wheat in Burgers

Yes, agree with RRB - make your own! But if it's eating out you're worried about - just ask what's in them.

PIP & how to get it

From the Guardian...links might be useful... "Both ESA & PIP assessments can badly fail clients with mental health problems. The standard report response is usually "good rapport and eye contact, no rocking movements, looked well-kempt, etc etc". At our local CAB we are fortunate to have...

    Saying hi, and PIP anyone??

§ ......The compassionate party.....but that's what they do - cut your legs off then tell you that they've worked out how to save you loads of money on shoe leather. Well I have never voted for them - and I'm damned if I ever will!

    Saying hi, and PIP anyone??

PPS - do wot Ultramum said - go to CAB and get some advice. They may be able to put you in touch with someone who can represent you on a pro-bono (free) basis....

    Saying hi, and PIP anyone??

Just PM a Mod to ask if OK - I can't see a problem. If OK, just make a new post titled "PIP Petition" or something and include a link to where your petition is. To do this, type something like PETITION, highlight it with your cursor then click on the chain symbol in the line above the input box...

Think I should have introduced myself here :)

Hi Bs0lth Canned tomatoes not so bad - just have a look at carbohydrate content - those below 3%-ish will be OK. Without banging the drum (too much!) I found that the most useful thing was getting into the habit of reading the nutrition information panel on packaged foods - anything over 4%...

    Saying hi, and PIP anyone??

Hi Ultramum - wasn't sure if Lozchan had actually appealed or not - if she has, then of course you are right. But we must all be like "snowflakes"....individually unique and delicate, but together we can make an avalanche!! And "they" better not be standing in our way when we do!

    Saying hi, and PIP anyone??

Rant over - but it makes me so bloody mad - Lozchan - have you appealed to the Tribunal about the outcome of the assessment? I believe there is quite a good success rate but don't just take this lying down. Where is your petition - yes, I will sign it.
