What blood glucose level triggers your hypo's?

We certainly are. I generally don't like mine running too low. With the volume of exercise i have to push up my sugars knowing they are going to drop because of the exercise. If i ran them low and still did the exercise then i'd be in permanent hypo city!

What blood glucose level triggers your hypo's?

And that's something i don't want is to adjust to them...although sometimes when i have them could be at a awkward moment i.e. in the middle of teaching a class! Weirdly though, even though i sense they are going as soon as the machine confirms it they then just plummet really fast!

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I've only had one low reading like yours...exactly 1.9 however for me leading up to that i was laughing uncontrollably and had a 'waxy' feel to my skin according to my partner at that time. That was in the early days and one of the many lessons i learnt such as 'don't inject straight after a hot...

What blood glucose level triggers your hypo's?

At that level i'm thinking forget the dextrose...where's the chocolate!

What blood glucose level triggers your hypo's?

The feelings are weird aren't they? I always find it hard to describe to people what it 'feels' like when they go low. People who know me can see it in my eyes apparently. I think they go grey and sallow. I can remember a time in the early days where i just sat there uncontrollably laughing for...

What blood glucose level triggers your hypo's?

Doesn't it just. I've just had a couple of replies where they have lost the awareness and that's something i wouldn't want to lose but i realise 20 years from now it could be a different story all together!

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Hi Phil, I wonder sometimes with my own awareness is partly related with my exercise and has been an ongoing conversation with my consultant. In the early days i was up and down like a yo-yo trying to get the balance with how much i injected with what i ate and combined with the exercise i did...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning all. 6.4 for me this morning. As i'm new to the forum part of the website please excuse me if my question lie's in a thread somewhere else. In the couple of days i've been posting here i've come to notice a few people posting morning readings that are quite low but no mention of...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Not quite morning but it's been a hectic day. First thing was 5.7 so i'm happy with that especially after the portion size of macaroni cheese i had...plus everything i consumed... i thought i'd end up a lot higher...!

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning all. 6.0 for me this morning. I prefer to sit between 5.5 to 6.5 mainly because as soon as I get near 4.5 my hypos usually start to kick in. If I woke in your range ziggy I'd be going for that dextrose tablet!

    sick of diabetes

I agree with all here...having diabetes has it's ups and downs (excuse the pun!) but it's how we deal with it individually. Everybody is different and everyone will have their own methods. The most frustrating part for me is even though i've been very active long before being diagnosed with type...

What do you wish people knew?

...that manufacturers didn't really need to bring out 'Diabetic Foods'!! We can eat everything else that the 'normal' person eats!!

Eating alone and injecting in a restraunt how?

In the early days of injecting i'd be bothered about what other people thought and would just avoid doing it in a restaurant or public place full stop. Then, over time, i just became less bothered and after some years of practice i can load up and inject pretty quick! Although i'll still doing...

How Do They Diagnose What Type Of Diabetes You Have?

For me it was while i was under the knife! I'd gone in for a routine inguinal hernia repair op and they did there usual pre med checks and scratched their chins...then came back with the doctor and did some more blood pricking tests and scratched their chins again...then sat me down before my op...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Hi all, New to the forum and based upon the replies here it looks like it's moved from the original post. So not sure if this is relevant but my fasting glucose was 14.5 at the time of diagnosis. And, tonight no books for me...just a bit of TV while i list a few things on ebay!
