    Non-diabetic hyperglycaemia -a new category?

PDF loads ok for me in England. I think it is a new way of getting funding. I think White Coat Syndrome lead to high fasting bloods at the GPs, they're ok at home, ditto Blood Pressure.

    Non-diabetic hyperglycaemia -a new category?

The above appeared on my Medical record last year without explanation. This year this has appeared - "(Quality and Outcomes Framework) non-diabetic hyperglycaemia quality indicator-related care" invitation, It seems GPs are trawling through patients' records looking for candidates. I once had a...

    HBA1c up from 42 to 44 - what about a CGM?

“Your blood sugar level has increased from 42 to 44 since you last spoke to Dr [Niceguy] in Dec 2020, which suggests that you were not successful in the lifestyle measures you were planning to take.” Wow, that was encouraging. I'd be inclined to question the negative wording, and the...

It is like this for me! fasting 7.2 Hba1c 35, then 6.4 & 25, 6.4 & 26, OGT 7.2 before, 8.1 after. No symptoms, was given 3 diagnoses - prediabetes, diabetes and no you don't have diabetes. My Hba1c goes up and down with my weight.

    Chronic Kidney Disease

I'd say yes. In 2007 at age 58, I had a reading of 48. I didn't have access to results then, and nobody told me that it was CKD stage 3. When I did find out and not knowing what it was, the nurse just said 'Oh, everybody gets it'. Since then, I've read that the only way is down! HOWEVER...

Type 2 Struggling to take tablets....

My brother also has this problem, he takes them with food, rather than water. Given the minimal effect that Metformin has, is it worth the discomfort? Liquid Metformin is available.

My mom has white coat syndrome

As above, use home readings. I don't know how useful the 24hr thingy is, as I've never been asked what I was doing, when it 'goes off'. Just looked back at 2 of mine: Nurse -214/104, on both hers and my machine. Home - 130/68. My BP goes up if I even think about it, my head is calm, my heart ain't!

meds too big for me to swallow

Liquid Metformin is available. My brother has trouble swallowing the tablets, takes them with something to eat rather than drink, but he does have a problem with his oesophagus.

Sick to the back teeth of being asked if I smoke !

Don't think being asked would bother me, but the notes on a recent consultation said 'Ex smoker smoking cessation advice'. (ex 40+ years). As that didn't happened, I queried it, was told they have to give advice(?). She wouldn't remove it from my record. There must be money involved somewhere.

    Telling off for self testing

Suggestion is a bit tongue-in-cheek, but would show how serious OP is about taking responsibility for their diabetes even if DN isn't.

    Telling off for self testing

To be clear, did the DN have the blood tests RESULTS, but didn't share them with you?
