    Honey mood stage.

Good evening :) I hope you are all having a great week. How long did your "honeymoon stage" go on for? I was diagnosed with type 1 back in early September this year and going through it, so sugar levels are dropping quite low which I was told to expect, however I really try to keep it above...

    Good afternoon!

Can anyone point me in the right direction for some information and good reads on learning to understand blood sugar reading and how different food make levels go up. I have no idea about the whole mmol. I've only been diabetic for 2 months. Thank you :)

    Type 1 HYPO fix.

Hi lovely I think something similar has been mentioned. I think I will try a few things. And yes work are being rubbish about it. I think they are trying to ignore the fact they now have a diabetic employee and it sucks! Feel pretty ******!

    Type 1 HYPO fix.

Hi John I was only diagnosed as type 1 5 weeks ago so still fairly new to it all. I'm due to see the nurse again in November and she did explain I may be in the honey mood period for a while.

    Type 1 HYPO fix.

They have already asked for a medical report to see whether I am still fit to work as a dental nurse within their practice. As you can imagine they aren't very understanding. I am more than cable of nursing.

    Type 1 HYPO fix.

Thank you for replying. Unfortunately they aren't being great and I'm going through the motions of getting them to understand and give me allowances. My employers couldn't really care less. I've tried orange juice which works well but this is almost frowned upon seeing as I work in a dental...

    Type 1 HYPO fix.

Can anyone tell me if Dextro Energy Tablets are suitable to treat hypos? I'm looking for something that can be used that isn't a food as being a dental nurse I'm not allowed food on me during work hours, I'm having to sneak some Haribo(tiny pack) down my throat in the toilet when I can but I...

    Type 1 T1D

Thanks for your reply! Haha, infact most that have mentioned this are actually health care professionals. Shocking isn't it.

    Type 1 T1D

So 3 weeks ago I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at 26 years old. Id only been having symptoms for around 3 weeks prior to diagnosis. Since being diagnosed I've had quite a few people question this as they seem to think I'm maybe too old to be diagnosed with Type 1. Is there anyone else out...

Type 1 Day 9 of T1D - back to work and eyesight.

Thank you for your reply. I think I might order a lower prescription lense, funny as I bought slightly stronger before I was diagnosed. I think i will bring it up with the nurse when I see them. X

Type 1 Day 9 of T1D - back to work and eyesight.

So it was my first day back to work as a dental nurse today and I had my first hypo. My BSL fell to 4.4 which has been the lowest yet. I had my breakfast at half 6 this morning along with my first dose of insulin of the day. Hypo was at 12.30 and I was due to take my lunch break at 1. I was...

Newly diagnosed advice wanted for a night out.

Hi Snapsy, thank you very much. I will certainly enjoy the evening. Are flavoured gins any good? Like elderflower gin for example? Xo

Newly diagnosed advice wanted for a night out.

Thank you, I've never been a vodka drinker but at 26 I don't want to be the boring one. Someone mention tonic water vodka and lime juice, would you say that was a no-go? Xo

Newly diagnosed advice wanted for a night out.

Thank you so much. I tend not to get drunk anymore, plus I'll be looking after the other half! I'll be fresh as a daisy the morning after. I don't know too much about type 1 yet, does alcohol cause BS to drop?

    Tips for a newbie?

I'm a newbie too. I was diagnosed last Monday at 26 years old. I feel like a right old person, how do you juggle partying studing exercising and now sleep?! Haha Xox
