    Dexcom ONE+ vs Libre 2 & Libre 2+

I have finally pulled together a comparison of Dexcom ONE+ vs Libre 2 and Libre 2+ with some glucometer tests thrown in. See the attached image. Key observations: - Libre 2 seems to run a bit higher than Dexcom ONE+ - Libre 2+ is quite close to Dexcom ONE+ especially after the first 24 hours...

Blood glucose rise from eating salad and berry fruits with cream

As others have mentioned, you do have to pay attention to the amount of food you eat. Just because some fruit and veg will have lower carb content and are generally better choices for lower carb eating, they still contain carbs. In terms of veg salads, I'm always careful with carrots and...

    Beginning to feel low effects

I'm T2, so my experience might not directly translate to T1, but over the years, I have found that my body adapts to my average BG levels. If I have been running 'high' for a while, I'd notice hypo like symptoms at higher BG levels. Conversely, when I manage to keep my BG in non-diabetic range...

    Smart food scales

I haven't used smart food scales, but I would assume you still need to somehow specify what you are weighing in an app. When I last looked at this a couple of years ago, the smart bit was that scales could send the weight measurement to the companion app. At the time, I decided that I might as...

    Newly diagnosed

I'd also look up what the error code for your specific glucometer means, which should give you some idea what the problem is and how to troubleshoot it. Check the instruction manual if you had one with the machine, or look it up online.

Momentum NHS VLCD / low MMOL on Libre2 when sleeping

@Mo1977 - While the patterns you are seeing do look like they could be compression lows, they could also be real. The best approach is to verify against a glucometer test. Your profile says you are on oral treatment for your diabetes. What's your current treatment? I found that I had to...

I can't seem to understand this

I'd say @KennyA has covered most items in his post. Just to echo that while there are some general principles to follow, your approach will need to be highly individualised to your body and your ultimate goals in terms of managing your diabetes. While nutrition is the main lever for managing...

    ‘Stop Eating After 7pm’ Challenge

Was done with food just after 20:00, which was better than expected.

    Low carb snack bars

One of the last protein bars I tried before decided to give up on these altogether was Pulsin Choch Fudge & Peanut Keto Bar. I quite enjoyed it, felt quite rich and chocolatey, but texture might not be for everyone. This bar was very kind to my BG as well.

    ‘Stop Eating After 7pm’ Challenge

Saturday was a writeoff. Yesterday I managed to finish my food just before 19:00. Today, I've got a work dinner scheduled for after 19:00, so I will need to skip this challenge. I'm focusing on fasting until dinner and then making the best food choices I can for my one meal a day.

    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

I don't restrict calories, but target 15g net carbs per day (leafy greens, non-starchy vegetables, berries now and then), around 0.8 - 1g protein per kg of my body weight and the rest of nutrition from healthy fats. My carb and protein levels are optimised to get stable BG levels in the standard...

    ‘Stop Eating After 7pm’ Challenge

Unfortunately, didn't manage 19:00 finish last night. But am trying and looking for ways to make this stick.

    Constant Freestyle L2 failures

I have found that some of my Libre 2 and 2+ sensors haven't lasted the full advertised time. Actually, 2 out of 2 Libre 2+ never made to 15 days, on my 3rd one now, and I'm keen to see if it lasts. Abbott is usually very good at replacements, but that does not lessen the frustration. I'm also...

    ‘Stop Eating After 7pm’ Challenge

Did manage to finish dinner by 19:00 and avoid a snack just before bed (there was a moment where dark side almos won)!

    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

This week's average is 82.6kg (last week's 83.3kg, a difference of -0.7kg). Today's weigh-in was 82.9kg (last Friday's 85.2 kg., -2.3kg, mostly waterweight). Current target 80kg. 2.9kg to go from today. I'm very pleased with my progress this week. Managed to stay on track despite travelling...

    ‘Stop Eating After 7pm’ Challenge

I was travelling for work yesterday with a team outing included in the evening. I did have a plan, did stay low carb all the way, but eating went way beyond 19:00. Still a long evening ahead tonight, might or might not hit the deadline, but let's see how it goes.

A couple of questions on abbreviations & fasting

Some abbreviations when it comes to fasting that come to mind immediately are: IF - intermittent fasting, sometimes alongside hours of fasting/eating as in 18:6 means fasting for 18 hours and eating within 6 hour window you yourself define. Generally, people tend to skip breakfast and eat...

    ‘Stop Eating After 7pm’ Challenge

Was running a bit late with my dinner last night and missed my own target of 18:30, but I managed to finish my daily food intake just before 19:00.
