Can I refuse to increase meds?

So my nurse has agreed to test my blood in 6 weeks time again. If my hba1c has come down then I can come off glyclazide. This is great news for me. Then it'll be a check every 6 weeks til I get off metformin too. I'm so happy with this. I am actually buzzing on this diet. Haven't felt this good...

Can I refuse to increase meds?

Ok I'll try that approach. She's lovely. I'll ask her to give me some time to do this first.

Should add I only began the diet 1 week ago so the hba1c was for before I began.

Can I refuse to increase meds?

Hi So I finally got my head in gear and have been doing the Newcastle diet using slim and save packs along with veg and some protein. My bg results at night and in the morning are now 5. I'm delighted. However I'm due to go and see my nurse tomorrow for my review. I can see my hba1c results...

    Good to go

Hi all, I didn't manage to remain on the diet a couple of months ago as I had too many things going on and I knew I wouldn't stick to it. So here I am, starting again. Day one. Surprisingly simple so far but I know this will probably change. Wish me luck! I'm going to do it for the 7 weeks...

    Good to go

So I'm on day 5. Feel fine although I seem to have a bit of upset tummy after every time I take my metformin or gliclazide. I'm hoping it'll pass but everything's going straight through me [emoji17]. Today I've bought a couple of lighter life meals about 200 cals each to see if that helps...

    Good to go

So because I'm on gliclazide, I realised I had to get checked out by my nurse first. I was on 2 a day (plus metformin) but because my hba1c is now 7.8, (down from 11.5 in November) I've to take only 1. We had a good chat and I told her I was going to the diet. She is pleased with my enthusiasm...

    Newcastle diet- which veg?

Hi All I started doing the Newcastle diet with tesco's ultraslim (cheap and I will be trying different shakes later). I'm doing 3 a day but do you think adding 50gr and a little veg would be ok? Which veg do people use? TIA

    Tips on a VLCD

Thanks for that. I think I'll just go with shakes then. I remember trying meals before and they weren't very appetizing. It's only for 8 weeks, as you said. I'm the same as you - I'm using it as a kickstart.

    Tips on a VLCD

Hi All, I've spent a good few hours on here looking at (variations of) the Newcastle diet. I actually did the cambridge diet a few years ago with great success. It was tough but it worked. I only put weight back on when going through my marriage break-up and so went back to my old eating...
