Covid vaccine and T1D, what are your views?

    - T1D - 55 - A school teacher wife - Teenage kids who think they’re bullet proof and wouldn’t think twice about coughing over you - Critical job in an industry badly affected by Covid - Mortgage, pension, blah blah On balance, I think a vaccine is far lower risk The base of this vaccine has...

Ok, let me try and do some maths (that’s a big ask for my old small brain by the way!).. Firstly, looks at these stats So, take the 50-59 group... Symptomatic cases requiring hospital treatment 10.2% Those of that 10.2% who require critical care 12.2% Dying 0.6% These are only based on...

COVID 19 - >70s - younger people with certain health conditions - remain at home

I wish they could be a little more specific on ‘certain health conditions’. We all know Diabetes means higher risk, but what if you’re well controlled, under 60 and no other complications. Or conversely, what are the key factors, conditions alongside introducing higher risks? I’m sure we can...

Type 1 Diabetic looking for best way to obtain class 2 medical for PPL.

Hi Duncan, Look at the CAA website and their medical section. It details fairly well there what type of restrictions you would face and monitoring requirements. See the screenshot of the CAA diabetes protocol below, if you wanted a class 2, you would have an OSL (operational safety pilot)...

    Cheap libre sensors in France

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere. Knocked my libre off on a door post whilst in France for a few days. Went in to a chemist and asked if they sold sensors, yes was the answer. Pleasantly surprised I was only charged €35 euros...not sure if the same all over France, but they seem...

    Exporting data from Freestyle Libre

Hi...unfortunately Abbott do not make it easy, which is a shame with a ton of data available. I have to submit regular medical reports for work. In the app, go to the menu, select the report you want to down load, e.g. Daily patterns over 7 days. You can then extract in a number of ways...

Why is this "type" of exercise making me insulin resistant?

Check out Henry Slade (England Rugby) blogs/articles... Adrenalin playing competitive sport has a different effect (I guess due to cortisol, liver dump etc), when compared to a moderate workout in the gym, he has issues with highs when he play.
