    Dexcom G5 pros and cons?

Sorry, another thread hijacker .. :-) A few questions: Can you use the G5 with any Android phone? - especially with the xDrip+ app? Do you need to have the official app to activate the sensor/transmitter? Can the transmitter be put to "sleep" for a few weeks and the "woken up" again? (i.e...

    Improving Libre Accuracy?

Regarding re-calibration, the Glimp app used on the phones/tablets can "recalibrate" the readings/graph. When you enter the results of the prick tests, Glimp will "recalibrate" the graph according to the prick test results. Glimp will not make changes to the sensor. I don't think the Abbott's...

Lower blood sugar = higher blood pressure?

Drinking alcohol can drop your BG levels. Happens to me when I drink a glass of red wine. Not too sure how gliclazide actually works, but if it is like metformin, then the effect of taking/dropping the medication takes time to kick in / drop off (from a few days to several days). Someone else...

    Bananas

@CDudley - How much potassium does the tablet you refer to? Which brand is it? AFAIK, most potassium tablets are usually limited to 99mg of potassium per tablet. So, you would need to take 45 tablets to reach your RDA. There are some tablets that have 200mg of potassium. You could ask the...

    Lemons

There is about 5-8 grams of carbs per lemon. If you cut the lemon into 6 slices, it is about 1 gram of carbs per slice. BTW, you'd be having 8.5% of your recommended daily Vitamin C (per slice).

    Bananas

You could try avocado - has more potassium and less carbs versus banana (gram for gram). Also, avocado has lots of good fats. See this for comparison between avocado and banana: http://skipthepie.org/fruits-and-fruit-juices/avocados-raw-all-commercial-varieties/compared-to/bananas-raw/

    So which is it then

Be aware that testing two different fingers can give you different results. Sometimes they're similar, sometimes they quite different. If they're quite different, check that the fingers clean and warm.

    Help! Cholesterol Readings

My trigs/HDL ratio is 0.5 (0.8 / 1.6). LDL is 3.7 at the moment. A big improvement from 6 months ago, when the ratio of trigs/HDL was 2.4. A big change in what I eat and drink (low carbs) caused the improvements.
