    Dental treatment.

Hi Stephyr7738, I spoke to my nurse about such things, and she pointed out that you can't always guarantee how you will react to different stress/pain etc. So, my next dental appointment I will aim to have my BS within range, have an easily consumable hypo treatment to hand, and be prepared for...

    Easier and trickier carbs

I have had to convert to brown pasta, cooled then reheated with split dose 15 minutes before and 15-30 minutes after seems to work for me. Sweet potatoes have replaced every variation of potatoes, and are now a safe bet for me. I split dose with rice, but still need to keep an eye on things. And...

    Freestyle libre compatible phones

Hi all, So, everything was going fine using libre 1, Miao Miao, xDrip and ticwatch. I then dropped my phone (Samsung j5) and made it unusable (screen blank etc). Replaced phone with a Samsung s8. Set up libre link. Downloaded xDrip onto new phone (took a long time to set that up!) So far, so...

Hi, sorry to hear your problems. I've just had to phone Abbott, my sensor (libre 1) was reading LO all morning, confirmed with finger prick test that blood glucose was well in range 5.6 mmol/L. I kept the sensor in place and I phoned Abbott, who asked a few questions, etc and they were...

    Diabetic Maculopathy

Hi RVW, I'm in a similar position as you are. After my regular annual diabetic eye screening I had been bumped up to 3 monthly monitoring due to Maculopathy being detected, then they pushed it back to 6 monthly screening. The people carrying out the screening have never been able to offer any...

    Tresiba 3ml cartridge pen

Hi, Thanks for the responses! I was taking 12 units of Humulin I at bedtime, I've begun my Tresiba on 10 units, give it a week to settle in and it's been 5 days now. (Took a while to establish that BD microfine needles do in fact fit NovoPen). It appears I'm getting much more stable results...

    Alcohol Wipes

I looked at the 4"x4" wipes in tubs, but put off by the negative reviews. I checked box with my very next libre and it didn't have any wipes in, so I just ordered a box to get over a problem. Could you get this on repeat prescription?

    Alcohol Wipes

I just received OptiPro 70%Alcohol pre-injection wipes (100 per box) £4.49 on A prime. They measure 6.5cm x 3cm. I think they are about the same size as the ones Abbott supplied. So avoid these if you need bigger ones!
