You're on a diabetes forum here. I like to go on holiday as well, but do you have any questions about diabetes?

Hi I’m julieclarke I’ve joined to find out more about T2 diabetes

What would you like to learn about diabetes? Apparently your medication works very well.

Hi I’m julieclarke I’ve joined to find out more about T2 diabetes

I have lots of favourite foods. But I also have diabetes, which means I don't process sugar and carbs very well. So I would never eat sweets just because I like them, they make my blood glucose go up way too high!

Hi I’m julieclarke I’ve joined to find out more about T2 diabetes

I'm completely puzzled. I'm assuming love hearts are a type of candy? Earlier tonight you mentioned eating a Mars bar. Both are very high sugar/carb. You've joined because you want to learn more about diabetes, and you've had T2 for almost 20 years. What would you like to learn about diabetes...

Weird feeling later in the day

Would you like to check your BG to get a handle on how different foods affect your numbers? If you are interested in going that route, it could give you a lot more tools to deal with your diabetes, and it could answer your question on if your current symptoms may be related to your levels. Many...

Weird feeling later in the day

A bit more information could be useful. Do you feel this could be related to your diabetes? How long has this been going on? A couple of weeks ago you posted about your doctor wanting to stop you mounjaro, did you stop it? Are you testing your blood glucose at home when you're having symptoms...

    Insulin/Fridge

Agree. I get pens with a use by date over a year away. A pharmacist storing unrefrigerated would change that use by date to only a month away. I get my insulin delivered 4 times a year, so unrefrigerated storage could have serious consequenses.

    Insulin/Fridge

To my thinking it's ot much different from buying meat or dairy, which can go off if it's too warm for too long, insulin is a protein after all. A 40 minute commute wouldn't worry me, except for during a heat wave. In which case I'd use an insulated bag with ice packs put in a sock or so to...

    Insulin/Fridge

I get my insulin on a once per 3 month delivery, and they'll only hand it over in person because you have to promise to put it in the fridge right away once they take it out of the cooled compartiment of the delivery van.

Hi I’m julieclarke I’ve joined to find out more about T2 diabetes

You might like to have a look at this thread where we share what we have eaten on the low carb part of the forum, I often get ideas for new foods there: https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/what-have-you-eaten-today-low-carb-forum.75781/page-3296 Do you test your blood glucose to see how...

    Stress echocardiogram

I haven't had a test like that, but there is no reason at all why you can't wear a sensor during a cardiagram. As what to do before, it's impossible to tell because we all react differently to stress and exercise, so keeping a very close eye on your CGM seems to be the best bet to me. Can you...

    My new challenge ,

I somehow lost this thread from notifications, and the updates are absolutly amazing! Your progress with walking sounds great, and I hope you can get back to driving soon. Your attitude to life and what it deals you is one I hope to emulate or come close some day. For what the acceptance of...

Diet Coke & high blood sugar

Diet coke is much better than full sugar coke of course, especially for diabetics. But his doesn't mean it's a healthy drink compared to water, tea, and things like that.

    Type 1s and cataracts

Not sure if this is of help, but 28 years ago my T1 boyfriend (decades before I developed T1 myself) had cataracts removed at 29 years old, having been T1 since he was 14. He was very scared, but in the end it turned out to be an easy thing, and I picked him up a couple of hours after the...

Injected bolus insulin in leg. What will happen?

It doesn't seem to make much of a difference to me, and I've injected both basal and bolus in belly, arms, legs and buttocks.

    Glimepiride

Glimepiride is a medication which can cause hypos. What do your numbers look like throughout the day? Like @Mark Rawlinson said, this is something to discuss with your HCP. On any medication that can cause hypos it's very important to always have your meter and something to treat a hypo with...
