    Blood pressure fluctuations; input?

I can't speak for @JoKalsbeek , but I think this is an amazing bit of advice and I'll try! Jo already does this, she just doesn't always realise...

Keep the essays, or send them to me, I'm pretty sure I'd enjoy reading them! The computer stuff can be thrown out of course, too outdated to be useful. Curious to the basic points about writing in English too though. I'm afraid I need a course to improve my writing, the English in general are...

    Millet, any experiences?

Oh, I'm so sorry, I completely forgot the update! The millet soufflé didn't very much do the soufflé thing, but it was very tasty! I have a rudimental recipe, handwritten by his mum a very long time ago, and we didn't follow it to the letter either, but with it being gluten free I'll save it...

Mastering diabetes approach - I don't get it!

Have you clicked my link in this post and read my numbers on lipids? https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/mastering-diabetes-approach-i-dont-get-it.208808/post-2755941 My weight has been stable at an obese BMI of around 35 for the first 6 years from diagnosis. It's only in the last two years...

    Blood pressure fluctuations; input?

Hi Jo, it's wonderful to see a thread by you for you for a change, with all the help you always offer to others! Eerst, een hele dikke vette knuffel! (Big fat hug to save anyone else from translating.) Are you sure the fever hasn't been going on for longer? Might be worth seeing if there's a...

I'm sorry, I've just spent half an hour reading about pollen analysis, turns out to be a fascinating subject I don't know anything about! I also did a quick google search on 'traditional black house', and now I am interested in the way those houses met the needs of the people living in them...

    My other conditions

Do you use a glucose meter to test your blood glucose levels throughout the day? Any inflammation like UC/diverticulitis can, but not necessarily does increase glucose levels. Testing is the only way to find out if it affects your numbers. Sleep apnoea is another one that may or may not affect...

Cod works very well as fish fingers! Crush pork scratchings, use mayo or egg as glue, add some seasoning, fry. But I'd like to know how you make your cod dip, it sounds like something I'd like to try. :) Aw, my little green car now lives in the great scrapyard in the sky I'm afraid. But only...

Mastering diabetes approach - I don't get it!

For what it's worth (I'm only N=1), this is what happened to my lipid levels from the point of diagnosis and during the past 8+ years. No statins except for a month or two after diagnosis (the initial sharp decline)...

    exercise and ketones with diabetes

You said that 12.3 is a normal blood glucose for you, is that just a short spike after food or a regular type of level throughout the day? If you're often at that level for a bit longer, have you looked into your insulin doses? I can't help you on the ketones, I have no means of testing for...

Only one Leeuwarden, and even 62 years ago it was a relatively lively smallish city as far as I know. You must have missed the best parts! If you ever visit again, just let me know and I'll brew you a cup of coffee on my bridge or we'll go get a cone of serrano ham or cheese together!

My hotel room for the night. I have to work early on a ship, and sleeping here saves me an hour of driving tomorrow morning. Plus, I finally have a car with room for a mattress again and I want to test it. Evening meal will be a mix of cold things, hard boiled eggs, salami, olives...

Is it possible I may just be prediabetic?

The key part here of course is 'when compared to starchy control foods'. Yes, my blood glucose does better on lentils than on bread, rice or potatoes, but compared with bacon and eggs or a meal of a protein, veggies and grated cheese the lentils do way worse.

Aaargh, I was just about to go to bed after 3 nights of too little sleep in a row! Can't ignore you though but you'll have to make do with the short version without pictures. I had an amazingly enjoyable evening, we went to Dirk's mill shop to get millet for the soufflé, then we went to a farm...
