    fasting blood sugar

Being that close, treat it as if it is Type 2 and your health will prosper. If you ignore it, you’ll end up “official” sooner or later.

Why is the lower figure for type 2 diabetics higher than the non diabetic one?

I have too. I aim for non diabetic numbers. It’s a great goal. Interesting that Ken Berry says, “you never want to be above 140” including post meals. I can only achieve this on sub 20 grams of carbs.

    Type 2 Testing Foods Question

I’m < 20 g carbs. The exception is test day. Test day has only just begin & I am not certain of doing it. Selfishly, I’d rather read of others’ than my own. Normally I don’t need to check post meals because of no processed foods = no surprises.

    Drugs

6 months of no processed foods (including lab oils). I finally tested bread —Einkorn flour w honey didn’t go well. Then whole wheat sprouted flour. It did not put me above 140. I don’t know if I really want breads back in my lifestyle again.

My humor was flat there. I’ve been making my own bacon. It’s great. No sugar.

    Type 2 Testing Foods Question

Jim You’ve bailed on all breads? If so, you ok w that? Funny, I love breads (we’ve always made our own) but don’t miss the “wheat belly” reactions. It’s why we are searching out to find non GMA —-

    Type 2 Testing Foods Question

I liked the protein discussion. I have reached 6 mos Mark & now am testing foods. I’ve been able to keep my numbers very low first through diet & now diet and exercise. I am off all meds. My wife may try to sprout and grind wheat berries. Can anyone share how, once Type 2 was under...

Do you try to walk daily no matter the weather?

I use both. The intensity exercises raise my BG, yet I believe long term will increase sensitivity (low carb eating) The “constitutional” walk is easier & lowers BG.

Do you try to walk daily no matter the weather?

I enjoy the challenge of not allowing the weather to win over the “Diabetes Shuffle.” This constitutional (I’ve found), lowers BG post meal. It’s not a work out that rises BG but a moderate pace for 20 to 30 minutes. Here, it means spending $ as it can go -20F but ebay is a help. It...

    Living with Diabetes.....

My wife read Diabetes Code for me. We eat the same now because she said I’d never last long term with her eating that which I’ve loved my entire life.

    Type 2 Testing Foods Question

It may sound silly, but I didn’t know. If a cookie sends BG to 200, was it a response to the presence of sugar OR the presence of the volume of sugar? I’m grateful for the answers here. I don’t know if I’ll try again. 1 hour PP 180 90 min PP 160 6 hours later? I woke up overheated...

    Type 2 Testing Foods Question

I mean for BG testing to see how one reacts. If testing a low carb cookie, does the volume matter to the BG spike?

    Type 2 Testing Foods Question

So...6 months in, off all meds, weight loss complete, I’m now testing food. Question: does volume matter in testing BG? Ex: Einkorn flour bread sent me from 80 BG to 180 and slow to return. Would it matter if it was one slice or four slices? Thanks.

    Too young?

Let’s say that tests show you’re not diabetic but the doctor forgot to tell you. Thinking you’re diabetic causes you to drop processed foods, sodas etc. and you add healthy natural fats to your life. Each month that passes, weight falls off. You might find yourself so pleased, in just 6...

    New to type2

This should be shocking but it isn’t. Following gov’t or funded organizations will produce a greater reliance upon Pharmaceuticals as your health is made worse. $$$$$$$$$ Thus far, I’ve found advice to the contrary of official diabetes agencies dating back 370 years. I’m searching history...

    Burn Out

Interesting responses. Recently I’ve engaged w some Type 2’s in the medical profession (mostly nurses but some doctors) who impose no dietary restrictions upon themselves. Overweight to obese. A few said they’re tired of low carb eating & just relied upon meds to “correct things.” I’m...
