Oh and that 3 hours is spread over walks in the morning, afternoon and evening, not all at once! Yeah I can see anybody would be tired all in one go! I was trying to mimic what I want a normal day to look like. But perhaps being a bit hard on myself. Thanks everyone, I’ll rest for a day and...

Thank you for your nice words. You’re right I need to chill out! It’s just the thought that it has been a long term problem I thought had righted itself and that it had to do blood sugar. Will make an appointment if it continues and try not to overreact!

    Headaches

Yes definitely to the headaches. But I’m type 2 and brought my blood sugar down to 5 a s 6s so probably totally different from you. Just wanted to say you’re not alone! I’ve just posted my question too in a new thread so I won’t detail yours.

So I was feeling so good in energy levels, clear head, and getting levels between 5-6 I felt it would be alright to up my activity. 3 hours of walking yesterday and 17000 steps and I feel dreadful today with banging headache, really tired, and a fasting glucose 1 point higher than it’s been in...

Newbie a few weeks in - what I wish I’d known at the start!

That’s such great news Ultradad! Yes I definitely agree, so many great people here and full of good advice. I can’t believe I’m actually never hungry, loving my food, energy is through the roof, and feeling like I’ve been shot with happy pills. I hadn’t realised what a slog each day had become!

Any fish recipes that are easy and quick to do

Nice marinade for salmon (but I suppose any fish would do?!): Soy sauce, minced garlic, chilli, 1/2 teaspoon honey, grated ginger, 1/2 a lemon. No need to leave in marinade I put them onto tin foil and add stuff over the top, then wrap it up as a parcel and bake for 20 mins. Lots of flavour

Newbie a few weeks in - what I wish I’d known at the start!

Hi all, Firstly there are loads of really experienced and helpful people here to give advise - that’s not me! I just thought it might be nice to share a few things I’ve found out that have been helpful as I’m only about a month in of my journey. I fiddled around with diet and exercise with...

    COVID-19 may cause diabetes

Anecdotal again, but I’ve had COVID twice and shortly after the second time symptoms started. I mean obviously at a bmi of 30 lifestyle was an issue but with no family history and age 42 maybe? Anyone else?...

Frontier: New Article supporting and researching low carb

Thank you for the article. I’m very new to it all but fascinated by the physiology. Connecting what I’ve read to myself, whilst anecdotal and maybe a bit of confirmation bias, I used to be really frustrated that I couldn’t do more than 3 hours of activity at a time (gentle walking, shopping/...

    Newbie hi and advice welcome!

Thank you, just finding my way and working out how to make it sustainable at the moment. I was quite lucky to have a chance urine reading of glucose after a car accident, which on the upside would have went undetected.

    Newbie hi and advice welcome!

Thanks MrsA2, I am a bit worried that exact thing will happen. What are the regular tests I’d miss out on if the same thing happened? On the other hand I’m worried that if I leave it until the second test I’ll be back at work and will really struggle with a new promotion and my body hating the...

    Newbie hi and advice welcome!

Thanks Ellie, the link is great and your words reassuring! I used to be really active with teaching but with COVID we’ve now got a box painted on the floor at the front that we’re told not to move out of which definitely hasn’t helped! Carbs I’m down to about 60g a day. Will keep tweaking and...
