    Being diabetic and injuries

Since becoming diabetic I am a bit worried about getting injured ie cuts, bruises, falls, knocks, grazes etc as I know you have to be careful with healing etc. I want to start re-learning how to ride a bike after many years but I'm conscious of falling off the bike whilst I'm learning. I know...

    Diabetes Reversal

Yes I agree 'reversal' means 'remission' although a lot of people (including myself) thought you can actually 'cure' yourself once reversed. For now I will be just happy to get my weight loss and get my BS levels lowered but I doubt I will ever become a 'non-diabetic' ever again. My partner...

    Diabetes Reversal

I have been overweight/obese half of my adult life and have dieted on/off for most of it but this time I think I've finally nailed it and I keep saying to myself that this is going to be a permanent lifestyle change. I'm being conscious of everything I eat and keeping it low carb and avoiding...

    Diabetes Reversal

I have to share this, it has put a smile on my face :-) I tested my BS before my evening meal tonight and my reading was.......5.9 I haven't seen this number since I was first diagnosed 5 years ago. I'm doing the Blood Sugar Diet with 5:2 and not only am I losing weight but most importantly my...

    Background Retinopathy

I am due to have my diabetic retinopathy screening on 18th July and I'm really nervous because last year was the first time since I've had diabetes that they found 'background retinopathy'. Is this just going to get worse (hope not) or can it disappear? I am really trying hard now to lose...

What does the UK leaving the EU mean for us?

Why couldn't Boris and Gove both go for the leadership? I don't understand why Boris pulled out - sounds a bit stinky to me was he TOLD to pull out by the rest of the party cos they didn't want him to be PM at all?

What does the UK leaving the EU mean for us?

How do you find out about these MP's and their background and their policies? I feel I haven't 'researched' about them and know nothing about them - is it just by googling?

What does the UK leaving the EU mean for us?

I have a feeling that Marine Le Pen will win the French election next year and then the saga will continue and be very interesting.

What does the UK leaving the EU mean for us?

As we are now aware, LOSING was not an option and although the party was divided - they thought the Remainers could not lose, nobody predicted this, not even the Polls. All we need now is Trump to become the next US President :-)

Diet Shakes? Herbalife? Juice plus? Vi? Almased? Lighter life? etc.....

As I said I'm using Atkins products at the moment and combined with a low carb diet, it is working for me. I have an Atkins breakfast bar in the mornings with x3 brazil nuts and then at lunchtime I have an Atkins meal replacement bar and then mid-PM I have a piece of fruit (usually an orange)...

How many grams of carbs tolerated?

Thanks, it's just that I remember reading somewhere that the RDA for carbs should be about 130g daily for brain health and function but that could be for non-diabetics, not diabetics, is that correct?

How many grams of carbs tolerated?

I am doing The Blood Sugar Diet and today is my first Fasting Day. I am allowed 800 calories for the day (I've had 300 already this morning for breakfast). My question is that I have only had 11g of carbs and will of course have some more with my evening meal tonight but wondering how many...

    Co-enzyme Q10

Does anyone take Co-enzyme Q10? I've heard that taking statins (which I do and have been for years) depletes the body of Co-enzyme Q10 which is regarding as the giving the 'spark' to cells and a study showed that it can protect the heart ie heart failure. I can't remember the country the trial...

What does the UK leaving the EU mean for us?

someone I spoke to at work this morning said that we need to get a General Election underway asap. Labour could do a coalition agreement with the Lib Dems (the Lib Dems have already said that if they are voted in, they will get us back in the EU but that is probably their way of saying 'this is...

    Diabetes Reversal

Do any of you buy products from Avidlite? I've just been looking at their website and it has lots of products I'm interested in like the low carb pastas and flour to make bread and pizza - almost sounds too good to be true! - expensive though.

    Diabetes Reversal

I have a question - now that you have got your BS levels to what you want them to be, are you careful all the time or do you have the odd pizza, mcdonalds, chips etc? just wondered and if you do, how does it spike you? thanks

Diet Shakes? Herbalife? Juice plus? Vi? Almased? Lighter life? etc.....

I'm currently using Atkins products as they are low in carbs and sugar but have heard Almased is good for diabetics and I might try that too and see which one I like best. Slimming World and Weightwatchers didn't work for me.
