Hello All, thought i would send an update. I saw the Consultant this AM and basically i had a blood test done there which is to see for a sign of any infection. If there is an infection then i will be put on a course of antibiotics. He wants to see me in a month's time and then will have a...

Help - i have a cyst in my liver

Hello All, thanks for your comments. I spoke with my regular GP this morning and she was very reassuring, I don't think I can do much until I see the consultant on Friday where I hope I will at least get some questions answered. She actually said that it may just be a simple cyst that has just...

Help - i have a cyst in my liver

hello i was diagnosed with a cyst in my liver a few weeks ago when i had an ultrasound scan as i thought i had gallstones. It turns out that an MRI scan has identified the 'complex' cyst as being a possible hydatid cyst (i am waiting to have a blood test to confirm this). I have been doing a...

Help - i have a cyst in my liver

Please can someone reply back to me with any advice? i am so worried. My MRI scan has shown that my complex cyst could be a Hydatid cyst (parastic cyst) which i had never even heard of before and is quite rare but have googled the internet and it sounds pretty horrid and scary. Has anyone...

    Complications of Diabetes

I have started cutting down carbs and sugar, have porridge every morning for breakfast, am drinking herbal teas and eating healthier in general so I hope I will notice the benefits soon. I know it won't be easy but I know I must do it. I hate having so many health issues at the moment

    Complications of Diabetes

Thanks for the links. I am going to ask for LFT again from my GP in about 3 months time. I am due to have an MRI scan in a week's time to get my cyst looked at and my liver so I should know the state of it soon. I think I will probably want regular check ups now and if GP won't do them then...

    Complications of Diabetes

I am about 5 stones overweight which puts me in the 'obese' category and i would think ((and hope) that a 5 stone weight loss will do wonders for my diabetes and fatty liver although i realise it won't be easy and will be a long journey but i have the motivation to do it now for my health sake...

    Complications of Diabetes

Even though I have this cyst and fatty liver, my LFT all came back normal and the scan showed my liver was not enlarged so I thought I may have 'mild' fatty liver but the GP said it is black or white with fatty liver, you either have it or you don't but I take it that (hopefully) there is not...

    Complications of Diabetes

I was diagnosed with Type 2 in 2009 and now taking x1 Metformin tablet daily. It was discovered by chance from an ultrasound scan that I had for possible gallstones, that I have a fatty liver. I asked my GP if it could be possible that I may have had this for years without knowing about it and...

Help - i have a cyst in my liver

Hello, thanks for taking the time to reply back to me. Yes, the GP said that people are walking around unaware that they have cysts inside their body. I am keeping everything crossed that this cyst can just be monitored and hope that even though it is classed as a 'complex' cyst, it can still...

Help - i have a cyst in my liver

hello, thanks for your reply. My next step now is to wait for an MRI scan appointment which hopefully will tell me more about my cyst. I think what concerns me is a) that it is complex and b) that it is IN the liver not ON the liver. Anyway, I am keeping everything crossed that it will just...

Help - i have a cyst in my liver

I am so worried at the moment. I went for an ultrasound scan for gallstones and they found by chance that I have a cyst in my liver. I now need to go for an MRI so that they can look at the cyst in more detail (it is a complex cyst). I am so terrified it's cancer. Has anyone else had a...

    Gallstones or gallbladder problems

I don't get the agonising pains which people have described, my symptoms are mild pin prick type pain under my right rib radiating to the lower back and going up my back with mild abdominal pain. I also suffer from GORD and take 40mg Omeprazole daily but over the last 4 weeks or so these...
