Lidl not doing Protein Rolls any more?

Goodness I hope so just had one and I'm not completely sold on them. Maybe with some cold meat and a load of lettuce. Onions, peppers and mayo it will be better.

Mince Pies for people with Diabetes

@Prem51. I have promised myself 6 spread between Dec 1st and Christmas night, when I watch Downton. But I will have carb free meals before. Well not Christmas day of course. You have to have roasties.

I got the call off gp today the hospital has officially informed them. Yay. A bit of advice from the professional pump users out there. I watch diabetic Danica on YouTube to get thee process in my head of how to change the inset. And she used little plasters for the old site and alcohol wipes...

Ive chosen the animas vibe coz of the waterproof aspect. I only learnt to swim within the last to years and go to swim about 3 times a week, so it suited me. Yes my control is all over the place lowest it's ever been is 9. And I've been diagnosed 9 years in Jan. Well I'll be checking in...

I too have been given 7th Dec for my pump start appointment, I'm so happy but I'm not sure if I get to use the pump from that day or its just a training appointment. My DSN told me to get the insulin in vial from gp to take with me but my GP was reluctant to prescribe it as they've not...

Mince Pies for people with Diabetes

I love mince pies. Feels like torture not eating them. So I make sure I just have a carb free main and one for desert. Then it's only about 40g carb for whole meal. It's the best solution I've found.

    It's happened: Burnout

When I get off track, I take time and get back to basics. Test and record all results, go back to giving myself text book care even if only for a few weeks till I see good patterns on my bg, I have terrible evening control due to this being my busiest time of day. Cooking cleaning bath...

    The gym

I go gym regular but am a bit ' flying blind' as I don't ever really see a pattern with my BG, of course i wouldn't go if I was 5 or below but am quite happy to go if it's around 13 or above even, why are you advised not too. Incidentally I spoke with a personal trainer/nutritionist today ( a...

Hi guys. This is not a diabetic related question, but just wanted to know if anyone has changed careers later in life. I'm nearly 40. And have spent the last 13 years raising my kids. Now the youngest is 8 and i have some time to spare I've decided to do a online course in health and...

Would you want to go back to eating the way you used to?

Would just love to eat a whole 500ml tub of strawberry cheesecake ice cream when watching a movie every now and then, I know it's a lot and know it made me feel sick for an hour or so after but it was self indulgent and I need that every now and then. Self indulgence these days is having jam...

So desperate not to be T1

Of course you have to be straight with her, I think, it's a mums job to tell all the truth no matter how unpleasant and unwelcome it is. We here know its not 'only diabetes' I know it's early days for you so do remember her behaviour can be a result of her BG not being right so take that into...

So desperate not to be T1

Oh dear. I have no words of wisdom for you. Such a tough thing for you all as a family to be dealing with. I'm sure if you dig deep the nhs will have groups, people who you could go see to help you all though this transition. I'm 39 and only diagnosed 7 years ago but it did take me a fair...
