    Honey Diabetes and Heart

Hello guys, I would like to share with you some calculations I had to go through. It's not a secret that honey is very useful for people who have cardiovascular (heart) problems. Honey is the one of the well-known natural antibiotics as well. But how do you go about it when you're also diabetic...

Right, thank you DCUKMod. Well, I have now switched to a double-boiler for all the meals I cook. I bought one yesterday. There is going to be a new sheriff-(chef)- in town :) It will evaporate all the nasty stuff including extra sugars (I hope) and make my meals as dietary and healthy as they...

This is all great an all but why doesn't somebody come up with an idea of "removing" all the carbs and sugars before we eat it, not after. For example you inject some insulin into a banana or feed that banana some pills somehow and only then eat it being completely sugar/carbs free. Why do we...

Yes, I normally take things for granted. I once played a friendly joke on a person who is a friend of mine now. I said, "What's with the haste? Do you own that plane?" What do you know, he really appeared to own that airplane and a few others as well so we had to hurry up not to miss our paid...

Thank you. Yes, I noticed straight away that people over here were very friendly and helpful. It sure does help to know that you're not alone.

Thank you. That's a great advice! It will really prove useful I guess. I wonder do carbs dissolve somehow as well? Let's say you fry them out of a product you want to eat. I know that microwave energy turns carbs even into more glucose That is when you heat up your food in your microwave oven it...

Well, the way he said it looked like it was the country (Iceland). :) Plus, this supermarket chain is primarily located in Wales and I have never been there. In fact, I do not remember seeing any "Iceland" in London either. But I might as well just didn't pay much attention as my favorites have...

Right. Perhaps I will have to consider moving to Iceland or back to the UK again :-) not to be worried about carbs and sugar in products that are originally supposed to be carbs/sugar free.

Lucky you. When I am to the UK I am eating bacon and eggs again :-) my favorite breakfast, healthy and carbs and sugar free.

Sorry, didn't mean to scare you. But on the other hand it never hurts to double-check. I am all new to all these labels' reading so.. it will take some time to learn the ropes I guess.. Yes, you are lucky indeed to have it with zero carbs. I have never had to think about it before though... I...

    5.5 to 5.9 mmol/L Oddity

Right, but you could also do it normally, take readings before your meals and two hours after your meals. If you eat for example 4 times per day then you will have 8 measurements per day. This will result in your glucometer to collect all the data needed to show you correct monthly averages. If...

    5.5 to 5.9 mmol/L Oddity

Thank you so much for your input, Mr_Pot. I think you are absolutely right. I had similar thoughts but this evident statement and clear definition of "non-diabetic healthy individuals" that have 4.0 to 5.9 mmol/L completely confused me.

I am currently in Europe and their bacon also doesn't differ much from any sugar rich products because it has something like 10 grams of sugar and 20 grams of carbs in their 100 grams packages of bacon.

    5.5 to 5.9 mmol/L Oddity

Thank you so much for your input Prem51. I appreciate. Well, as far as I know almost any glucometers have daily, weekly, and monthly numbers and readings that accumulate over time and give you totals. All you have to do is to measure your glucose level regularly and then you will have these...

    5.5 to 5.9 mmol/L Oddity

Thank you so much everybody for replying so quickly! What a friendly bunch of people. Well, I am still learning how to use this sugar/glucose meter of mine and I was looking for some guidance as all the charts and graphs found online have different readings for some reasons as per my example in...

Correct me if I am wrong, but... dietdoctor suggests bacon and eggs for breakfast which is a bit weird for me. I have checked it for many times as it used to be my favorite breakfast (not any more though) because bacon alone contains minimum 15 grams of carbs per 100 grams in package, which also...

    5.5 to 5.9 mmol/L Oddity

Hello guys, I have a tricky question. Your web-site (diabetes.co.uk) gives two charts that say the following: 1. NICE recommended target blood glucose level ranges: non-diabetic healthy individuals 4.0 to 5.9 mmol/L before meals. 2. Blood sugar levels in diagnosing diabetes: fasting (before...
