Teenage son won't do his insulin

Have you looked up 'diabetes burn out' ? Might be worth it, if anything connected to that might help. On the scare tactic front, have you had a man to man talk about what he's doing to his 'manhood', as a young lad I'm sure he doesn't want to loose the ability to have a normal sex life? (this...

Poor rating for Freestyle Libre sensors

The key thing with the Libre is cost, if they made it impossible to prize off on a door frame it would probably have cost twice as much and it wouldn't have had 'mass-market' appeal - Abbott did(not sure if they still do) replace accidental removal up to a limit (obviously) which costs them but...

Hello From A Newly Diagnosed Type 1

You're unlikely to have a 'funny turn' as in the classic diabetes sense of a hypo, you will gradually feel worse and worse weight will drop off you like a stone (pun?!?) and you will eventually just want to sleep, drink and pee all the time (all at the same time!), but judging by your last...

Hello From A Newly Diagnosed Type 1

At least your GP didn't just assume T2 (like mine did - although I was same age and bmi as you). Sounds as though it's been diagnosed quite early, you can go down hill quite quickly so don't mess about if you do feel unwell. What prompted the visit to the doctors?

We had a good few claps and flashes last night too (:wideyed:!!) So this morning was a repeat of yesterday (and who says diabetes is never the same the next day!?), 5am wake to a low, took some glucotabs and nodded back off for an hour - still low then, a few more glucotabs and a dog walk in...
