    Type 2 Fasting

I'd love a biscuit. I'm going to have to get some of these :)

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.9 my lowest since diagnosis:) (Usually 8,something in the morning.) Diet only until Thursday when I can pick up my prescription for gliclazide

    My Dietician Appointment

My DN offered to make me an appt with a dietician and I said no thanks. She said maybe next time I'll want to do it - don't think so :)

Getting test results from dr's surgery

If it's any consolation my surgery stopped people booking appointments on line too, and we also get interrogated by the receptionist, but don't get telephone appts unless it's an emergency. We have to ring at 8.30am for an on the day appt, and I have often redialed 20 times (I kid you not)...

Getting test results from dr's surgery

There are no doctors' or hospital notes available on my records. It's just data. I was diagnosed with cancer in 2007 and looking at the records I can see, you'd never know.

    Two different readings

    Ah, I understand now :)

    Two different readings

Maybe I'm just in a narky mood today, but I don't understand what you mean by "both important scenarios"?

    Two different readings

I only saw the DN for the first time yesterday (which is how I've ended up with 2 meters) and I can't pick up my prescription meds until next week so I'm sorry but this is the best I can do for now. Did your levels drop overnight?

    Two different readings

Thanks @Bluetit1802 I just assumed they would be closer. As I put in my other thread the DN told me only to test twice a day, but I have been testing more often with the Tee2. She's done me a prescription which I "should be able to pick up on Monday or Tuesday", but I am away from home...

    Two different readings

I got a Tee2 meter about 2 weeks ago, and although my readings are still too high, they have been going down gradually. Yesterday I went to see the DN for the first time and she gave me a Contour TS meter. She did a finger prick test on a similar meter and it was 9.8, which I thought at the...

Getting test results from dr's surgery

My records only seem to go back to 2000, even then I was slightly older than a child :) but I have been with the practice for around 25 years.

Getting test results from dr's surgery

I just wrote a note to the practice manager saying NHS England had suggested test results should be made available a year ago and could I have access to mine. It's probably one of the administrators who'll do it anyway, not the dr. Good luck!

Getting test results from dr's surgery

There is a section for vaccinations, but I haven't had any!

Seven weeks after blood test I get to see the DN

No, she asked if I drove for my living, and I said no, but she didn't say anything else about driving and testing or contacting the DVLA...

Seven weeks after blood test I get to see the DN

You know this. I know this (I think I learnt it from you!) but the DN does not.... I've been getting 6 or 7 before my main meal and a couple of 7s but mostly 8 or 9 after. It's usually within 2 points afterwards, or there abouts. I've had one 5 (before).

Getting test results from dr's surgery

So my Drs surgery is good at something, sadly it's not patient care!

Seven weeks after blood test I get to see the DN

That's basically what I did. I was also surprised that I've only lost 1kg, but my BMI is in the normal range and I don't really want to lose much.

Getting test results from dr's surgery

I read a post about this somewhere but now I can't find it. My surgery has Patient Access, but I've only ever used it to order repeat prescriptions - used to be able to make appointments but they stopped that. Following the advice in the thread I wrote a note to the practice manager asking if...

Seven weeks after blood test I get to see the DN

She did apologise a lot that I had not been seen for 7 weeks, but they have a shortage of nurses. She said I should have been put on medication immediately. She started off by saying she wanted me to have 80mg gliclazide morning and evening, and 1 metformin in the evening for a week, then after...

    Type 1 Smoking

I gave up smoking a year ago and took up mint imperials instead. That's how I ended up diabetic :arghh:
