    Low carb snaks for T1s

ha ha ha... my dad used to give me ants on a log when I was little. Still eat it to this day  Careful on the pork scratchings - I've found a decent sized bag, e.g. 70g raises my bg significantly :( I love greek yogurt - plain, or with some blueberries and seeds on top

    Low carbing help needed please

Wow... had similar experience last night, so it's good to read the responses. I played high-intensity 6-aside football for 45 minutes. Normally this would drop my blood sugar level, so I ate a banana with no bolus before hand. By 9pm I was at 22.4!!! Corrective dose brought me back to 11...

    New Year, New LCHF Me

To help you out further, thought you should know that pretty much all cereals are inadvisable if you're lo-carbing. As are bread, potatoes, rice, pasta, cakes, biscuits, crisps, bananas, grapes, flapjacks, puddings, cheesecake (in general), any chocolate less than 70% cocoa .... pork...

I have no control over my woman. Better control over my diabetes. :D ... sorry

Do you ever think how your life would have turned out if you didnt have type 1 diabetes

I've not changed anything due to my diabetes. The ONLY instance where it has affected my activities was on honeymoon in Zanzibar - my friends had organised a scuba diving session as a surprise but I couldn't take it up due to not having a doctor's letter. Other than that, I've never thought...

New pump info - good news

Lol... I needed to make a decision in December, based on mine being out of warranty. Phoned up Medtronic to find out what new features the new Veo would have and they wouldn't tell me a thing. I even read out some roche insight features to see if they'd give me anything but they didn't. Very...

    Sex & hypo's

A quick snack before hand is my usual - have some sweets hidden in a handy place. That is definitely the worst time to feel a hypo coming on.

    Lo-carb restart

I can do that - just need to work out how much. Have been bolusing for all carbs plus protein adjustment. Will keep going for a few more days and adjust ratios if needed. Obviously, I'll be checking my basals along the way. First bit of exercise tomorrow whilst lo-carbing... back to the gym...

    Lo-carb restart

Lol... have been high carbing for about 39 years (minus the week or so I did November 2014). Reckon it'll take a bit longer before I go into ketosis. Do you feel any different in ketosis? Or is it just one's body working behind the scenes?

That quickly @robert72? ... have only been at it for 2 1/2 days. Checked ketones and got a 0.1 on the meter.

    Lo-carb restart

Soooo... before Christmas you might have seen a really enthusiastic post or two from me about lo-carbing. And for a few days it was great. Until the season of mince pies, socialising, excess alcohol, etc, kicked in. So I didn't beat myself up, I just said I need to find a more suitable time...
