My mistake. This is what the nurse told me

    Roche insight or medtronic640g

I've seen the insight and don't really like it. Its tied heavily to the Meter. The 640 isn't but has the option to use the Meter if you wish. The insight cannot be fully controlled without the remote. Which for me is no good.

Are you pleased with your Pump?

I had a look at the insight, but didn't personally like the tie up with the remote. Not for me anyway The new Medtronic looks interesting

    Countdown to new pump...

I considered the Roche, but its very reliant on the remote. I have the Animas and am considering the Medtronic 640g Also you can only get the cartridges with Novo rapid

    advice from u pumpers please!

If I remember your hba1c needs to be above 7 consistently for you to be considered for a pump along with frequent hypos, that was the case for me anyway This figure may be slightly out although you really need some regular monitoring..

    Drinking Alcohol with a Pump

I do know lager, cider etc has a lot of carbs.. Red wine doesn't have any, so these alone would make a big difference. I currently stick to wine but love cider. Spirits are usually low in carbs.

    Drinking Alcohol with a Pump

I tend to do a combo bolus, extended through the night. I seem to go high for some reason. But this doesn't always work. It's very hit and miss. Do you eat differently when you are out drinking? Gary

    Move onto insulin on Monday!

Just don't panic, it takes a while to get it right. It's worth the effort though. Good luck and let us know how you get on Gary

    Pizza on the pump

Maybe a bigger start bolus would have worked. Still it's a good end result!

    Pizza on the pump

That's a lot of carbs, have you tried a long combo to keep the levels down during the night. I think it takes the body a while to burn pizzas etc

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

My latest was 7.4, which I am quite pleased with as I have had a lot of highs. I am going to keep trying to get it lower though
