    Toujeo

Im on Toujeo also. No issues, keeps me really steady throughout the day. I take a split dose 12 hours apart. No issues with hypos while sleeping. Although i also always eat a light snack before bed for a small spike.

Hello. A newbie, diagnosed today with T2

I was recently diagnosed with type 1 and like you when I found out about the condition I found my BS was through the roof and my ketone levels were cause for concern. Eventually I needed to go to the ER to take higher doses of insulin and have them monitor my levels while they were brought down...

    Toujeo

Quick update: So far I have had no problems with Toujeo. Been on it about a week. Has kept me near a constant 90 - 100. No hypos or any spikes of any kind since beginning it. Just watching my diet and letting it do its job. Will post another update after some more time has passed since not much...

Update: Wanted to toss out a quick update and once again say thank you to all of you who have made me feel so welcome. Out of every place I have seen offering a diabetic community and discussing this has been the warmest and most welcome / informative (only place I felt I would like to talk in)...

    Toujeo

I have not been able to scrounge up anything so I will update this thread with my findings and how it effects me. So far it has been working great it has kept me very balanced even at work. I work graveyards outside so constant change in temperature and constantly moving and it's keeping up...

    Toujeo

So after much hullabaloo with my insurance it appears that the insulin I can receive with no problems or long back and fourths between them and my doctors is Toujeo (big surprise they push one of the newer insulins and lock me out of levamir / lantus options). That being said Iv been having...

    Type 1 Levamir / Toujeo

Doctor told me to take the same amount as the Levamir (15 units), I am skeptical so just to test I took 10 units of Toujeo and am monitoring my levels for anything weird.

    Type 1 Levamir / Toujeo

So my doctor still has not called me back. After I left a message with a nurse regarding the dosage and I need to get some sleep. I just used the last of my Levamir this morning so I will need to use the Toujeo tonight regardless. If my doctor flakes on me does anybody have any idea about a...

If I am safe with my nighttime levels can I avoid hypos for the most part. Or is their always going to be times when I just drop randomly and have to experience those effects even with careful dieting?

    Type 1 Levamir / Toujeo

Thank you, I will make a call to my doctors office before I use it.

Well I went out and made some necessary purchases of some glucose shots / gel / tablets. Shot for next to my bed and one to be kept at work. Gel in case of emergency and tablets just because. I am still optimistic but **** its hard not be more worried after reading about Dead in bed....haha.

Now after reading about hypos I am back to being terrified. I do not have someone to check on me while I sleep. What happens if I hypo and do not wake up in response? That's utterly terrifying and my doctor did not say a fricken word about it to me.

    Type 1 Levamir / Toujeo

I just started on insulin and due to some insurance snafus I still am not able to refill my levamir. While approval is pending on that I was given two Toujeo pens for when the Levamir ran out. Am I looking at a major difference between the two and should I be on the look out for any problems...

I looked it up and that makes sense. From what I am reading from my meter I'll start getting close to a real hypo near 50. Just another thing to be wary of and something new to pack to bring with me on a daily basis.

Wow my doctor and counselor gave me no warning or indication of this. Did not know to pick up things to remedy this.... I woke up today and got a reading of 83. Generally in the morning I have trouble focusing my vision. Could that be hypo?

What's a hypo? I'm still learning abbreviations and terms. Also thank you for the warm welcome and kind words everyone.

Originally when I was diagnosed I was scared. I went to the doctor feeling fine but with a few symptoms. Dry mouth. Leg cramps and weight loss. The weight loss I thought was partially my doing as I had changed my eating habits and started drinking more water and have an active job (security)...
