    Type 1 Advice

I have a pump and have never tried levemir, but before I got my pump my basal insulin was lantus and I used to take that in 2 doses. I'd been on lantus for a good 6 years or so before I was told it doesn't last 24 hours and was advised to split it.

Which equipment can help me exercise in front of my laptop?

Apparently sitting on an exercise ball instead of a chair is good exercise. I saw it on a programme with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall where they were getting people with sedentary lifestyles to improve how much they were moving at work, some of them had pedal exercisers instead. It's on iplayer...

    Stomach issues

Have you checked your blood and tested for ketones? If you have high blood sugars and/or ketones that could be making you feel sick. I'd guess it's a bug though.

    Type 1 gatou

If you're not worried, then that's awesome for you, plenty of people are worried though and sometimes talking to other people about it can help.

    Sugars

Could it be the insulin you are using? Have you changed cartridges/vials in the time your bloods have been misbehaving?

    Self isolating

Hi @Lainne1970, diabetes is higher risk (vunerable as the government puts it), but not extremely high (extremely vunerable), so we should be socially distancing. Unless you have other conditions which increases your risk further then you won't be getting a letter. Personally I'm choosing to self...

    Supermarket vulnerable

According to the NHS my mum is extremely vulnerable but she hasn't had a letter, she's not bothered as I've managed to book supermarket slots for the next 3 weeks or so, but I'm concerned that as the supermarkets are all saying they're reserving more slots for vulnerable people, it'll be more...

What do you do during isolation?

I sleep :hilarious: while most people sleep 8 hours a night, I need at least 10 so that means at least 2 less hours of time to fill :D I don't work and usually spend a lot of time at home anyway so I chat with my husband, do some cooking, phone or email family members, have a look on social...

    Should a t1d follow a low carb diet ?

I don't eat low carb and I've never been told that I should (I've seen...probably about 10 diabetes doctors and several dietitians) I know some type 1s limit their carbs and some do eat low carb.

Coping with a T1 Parent and Seizure

I have had a couple of seizures from hypos but it was when I was asleep and I hadn't woken up, I was told it was because they were prolonged hypos but when the first one happened (which was the worst) we had no idea what had caused it and so I had to have an MRI, CCG and ECG to make sure it was...

    Carbs in chips

In my carbs and cals book 100g of cooked oven chips has 30g of carbs, so I would say it's 100g when cooked

Any T2's managing to get Supermarket Delivery Slots?

You just have to keep checking, I know tesco in particular are adding extra slots at different times, I looked yesterday and I could've got a delivery today but I already have one booked for the weekend, they are popping up fairly frequently where I live. I did have some success with Asda too...

    Cannot get groceries delivered

Hi @Dancegirl84, a week ago I was very worried because I couldn't find any delivery slots but have noticed that Asda in particular have been adding a lot more for delivery to my address and Tesco have been adding more, they both add new slots at midnight for 2-3 weeks time, but both have been...

    Isolated

I'm getting fed up of looking at the same 8 walls (bedroom or living room), I don't feel lonely as I'm not a very sociable person anyway but we live in a terraced house with thin walls and all of our neighbours are SO noisy and I miss being able to go out to get away from them :hilarious:

    Coronavirus letters

Try at midnight when the new slots are released. I've tried a few times on tesco and had no luck but managed to get an asda slot....in 3 weeks time :arghh:
