    Explaining your condition to others

I've been type 1 for 32 years now & with my husband 30 years in total. In all that time I've had 3 major hypos that I've needed support with. The last one pre libre 2 & pump my son was very distressed & my husband was furious, insisted I apologised to my son. Not on at all as the guilt he made...

    Cells doesnt repond to insulin

Can I suggest you speak to your diabetic team. As a previous Lantus user mine only lasted 20-22 hours. You may need to split the dose but it is strange that it goes high a few hours after taking lantus.

Interesting Andy, I'm 31 years type 1 with an underactive thyroid but blood levels just checked & I'm also OK. I am always cold with multi layers especially my hands. It'll be Interesting to see if anyone else experiences this. Mo

    Omnipod DASH or another?

Hiya, I've been using the omnipod dash for just over a year but this is my first and only pump. I do like it as it is tubeless but don't find it discreet, bit lumpy under clothing. I don't wear it on thighs as found it easily caught on jeans/trousers. I tend to wear it either on my stomach or...

    Anyone not been induced?

Honestly it wasn't too traumatic just not what I would have planned but two strong & healthy babies later I'm a happy momma x

    Anyone not been induced?

Hi Mooshk, congratulations! I was induced at 35.5 weeks with my first child & then emergency c-section. 2nd child was planned c-section at 38 weeks. I think if your BP is behaving & they are happy with your babies size, a normal going in to labour delivery could be considered.

    Always low on a night

Hi In Response, My suggestion was given to me directly from specialist diabetic nurse. From experience it did actually help me.

    Always low on a night

If the one unit brings you back in range then that is good but to optimise your results you might need a bit of help in adjusting your basal rate or you bolus rate. One thing to try is to have a carb free meal & see if your basal holds steady. Then you know your carb ratio might need a tiny bit...

    Always low on a night

Hiya, have you a correction ratio? Say for example you're BG was sitting at 12 and you wanted to bring it down to 6 & your ratio was 1:3 you would take 2 units of insulin. Does this help?

    Is this normal with pump?

Spoke with the NHS GG&C DSN last week & she thinks I am trying to run my BG too tightly. She told me that up to 10.0 is acceptable so I have altered my basal programmes. 4th day in today and so far so good. Fingers & toes crossed it continues. Need to let go of my little inner control freak, lol

    Type 2 Medication.....

Hi MrBear2016 I'm type 1 so unfortunately I have no experience of these medications but I would suggest calling GP Practice tomorrow before starting the medication, just a thought incase of an error.

    Is this normal with pump?

Thanks inresponse When I first went on the pump I only had to reduce by 30% in these circumstances but its crept up over last 2 months. Have at least one low every day & it's being slightly erratic with highs. Been doing some research today & definitely think it's menopausal related. Will try...
