New podder and having a bit of a meltdown

They do but there has been the odd one that has left faint scarring. In the early days I had one on my lower back & insulin seeped from it & I had a terrible skin reaction, skin was weeping & scabbed over the whole of the pod shape. Changing from pens to pod is a whole new ball came but you'll...

New podder and having a bit of a meltdown

I'm genuinely unsure myself it is strange. I had many meltdowns when first started using the pod, feel your pain. Can only think to call your team on Monday. Ps the wee red bumps happen to me all the time.

New podder and having a bit of a meltdown

Hiya, are you making sure you are prebolusing? I use omnipod dash with novorapid & generally take the bolus 15-20 mins b4 eating. Have you tried using the extended bolus, I use it for every teatime meal.

    Pfizer Vaccine

I had the typical highs that my body was fighting an infection with first 2 vaccines. I got my booster last night and BG was high after 4 .5 hours of getting the vaccine & continued until about 14 hours after.

Ladies of a certain age Menopause

Hi All Hope you are all good & looking forward to Christmas. I'm experiencing some difficulties with fluctuations in my BG levels. 3 to 4 days of being quite level then another few days of of high & low fluctuations. I'm 52 and was wondering if any other ladies of a certain age have experience...

    Wondering if someone could help

Prior to using the pump I would treat hypo/low with a few glucose tabs & deduct 15grams of carbs from meals carbs to calculate bolus

    Positive for covid and scared

Hi Lynz, I hope you are feeling OK so far. I had covid in Oct 20 & am also type 1. Just monitor your BG often. You may not be the same but I suffered unexplained lows as well as the expected highs (with being ill). Plenty of fluids, flu capsules, etc. Fingers x'd you'll do OK

    mixed insulin

Hi, I am an omnipod dash user. I only decided to change to pump when I discovered omnipod. I think it would be best to explore this option. I have been on mixed insulin years ago & it was very restrictive, then basal/bolus which was a bit better. The omnipod dash might make him feel less self...

    Insulin Backed Up

It's so difficult to pinpoint, genuinely just slowly but steadily ruling things out. Two things changed for me when I changed to pump/just fast acting insulin: Sunny/hot weather drastically reduces my insulin requirements, didn't affect me when on pens. Alcohol, even one or two glasses of white...

    Insulin Backed Up

The flat as a pancake profiles are a brilliant start. Are you commencing temp basal re zoom (stress?) One hour before & one hour after event, same for exercise?

    Insulin Backed Up

Exact same team as I have, lol. I think if you have used fiasp on pens then they would more than likely want to see how it goes initially. I was on novorapid and still am now that I am on pump. It took me more time than I expected to get basal good & even more for temporary basal. I enquired...

    Insulin Backed Up

Hi, once you've established a definite pattern I would only alter if range was 2.0 above your upper range or 2.0 below your lower range. Fluctuations will still occur even if your basal rate is tight. I went Christmas shopping today, I used my normal temporary basal reduction for this but...

    Insulin Backed Up

LOL, small world indeed! I'm under the care of the RAH, Dr Neil McGowan is my pump specialist. Which clinic do you attend?

    Insulin Backed Up

Sorry I don't, it was my pump specialist consultant @ NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde who told me.

    Insulin Backed Up

At my first pump review with pump specialist I was enquiring about alternative fast acting insulins & was told that fiasp was not an option with omnipod dash pump as it was gloopy. Not sure if this helps

    Covid after vaccinations

I am type 1 & had covid just over a year ago when I used insulin pens. My glucose levels were very erratic with covid, strangely a lot of lows and a lot of highs. I just took a correction dose to bring the highs back in to range & treated the lows. It was erratic for about 10 days. Hope you're...
