    Vaping

There is evidence that high nicotine concentration can impact BG negatively. I found it very easy to lower to 3mg nic content though which v has zero impact for me. It does mean that I end up chain vaping though at around 15-20ml a day. I only eat once a day though and fast the rest of the time...

Impact and value of apple cider vinegar tablets on levels

That unusual, for most its a remedy to indigestion and Gerd. Stick with it for a few days as it helps glucose regulation really well.

    Vaping

Vaping for over 2 years after kicking a 32 yr 30 a day habit. Haven't looked back since, the health benefits have been immense. More importantly, vaping blueberry custard and strawberry yogurt kills the sweet tooth cravings dead for me. If I can't eat it, I'll vape it instead. I make my own...

    Low carb help

When I'm in a hurry I throw a load of veg, nuts, yoghurt and cream and a few berries in the nutribullet and drink it. Fills me up and is done and dusted and washed up in under ten mins. Very filling too.

    Lidl's High Protein Rolls

I'm missing out here.... Lidl in the morning then... I am craving cheese on toast now.

Impact and value of apple cider vinegar tablets on levels

Forgot to mention, there is growing evidence that it is at least as effective at glucose control as drugs such as metformin too. Can't find the link as I'm not at my pc but it's on Google somewhere.

Impact and value of apple cider vinegar tablets on levels

I always put a tablespoon into a small amount of water and drink it right before my meal. It's great stuff for many things besides glucose control.

    Type 1s: Diet not working

For someone who never eats enough anyway, losing weight can be difficult by any means. It's hard to cut down when you eat little anyway. Smoothies worked for me really well. 2 a day and a really small evening meal. I lost nearly 2 stone in 2 months and I only ate once a day beforehand and...

    Newly diagnosed on 27th Oct

Given that everything in a local health authority is computerised and available on intranet to all involved in a patients care these days, that sound like a lame excuse for a **** up. Lost in the post is so last century. Sorry to hear they have let you down. Badly it would seem.

    Type 1 - ESA?

From experience taking to people, unless your doctor puts up a fight in your defence, they pretty much can get away with anything. A carer on income supoort I know was recently told she had to find a job by job centre plus despite legislation that says otherwise. Law unto themselves.

    Readings

I'd say far more than 10% with the codefree.... The one I bought was 1.0 higher than 2 other machines of my mates that read the same lower number. My research since indicates others have had issues too.

Hello from China and my short story

You're in a similar position to me. I'm a slim 52 yr old with a BMI of 21 now but was at 25 BMI when I had a random fasting result of 6.7 and an hba1c of 5.6% during a routine screening. It's clear after buying a meter that I have issues but Investigation and speaking to my doctor tells me this...

    Back on Medication

It's a question I'd be asking and not just accepting. Statins are the devil. If you've achieved this without meds then it warrants an explanation and not just blindly complying with if it isn't justified.

Low Carbing and Physiological Insulin Resistance

Wow, OK. It's been driving me mad and turning me away from LCHF. Thanks.

    Extended fasting

I was just thinking earlier on. The govt and WHO are in chaos over the impending diabetes epidemic. If meters were made available to all, esp the many who over the years go to the doctors complaining of GI issues just to be told they have ibs by default. Meters would enable everyone to work...

    Extended fasting

This all now is starting to make sense. All my adult life I've hated eating in the mornings, cereal always left me feeling sick. Yet I never had the same problem with the same cereals at night time.

    Extended fasting

Little and often then, i love nuts but never eat enough, almond is high fat? And no carbs before lunch. Sounds like a plan, I could manage a slice of bacon and an egg at lunchtime I reckon and leave any carbs until evening when I'm clearly more tolerant of them.

    Extended fasting

Yes, I think I have worked out some good things today. 10g carb first thing in the morning raised me 1.5 this morning but 10g this afternoon only raised it 0.2. Clearly a bigger problem first thing. I was drinking green tea every morning but that didn't affect anything. It seems I am more...
