Prediabetes Any LCHF tips to re kick start my FBG reduction ?

Yes, it can and does shift but is always the last number to improve.... It can take years for some people and weeks for others. Weight loss helps, particularly around the middle and visceral fat loss helps too. Building muscle mass and exercise also helps if you can. Diet is the single...

Is there any point to testing my blood sugar first thing in the morning?

I agree, I don't bother testing in the mornings any longer... It depresses me to see fasting of 6.0 or above continually... Nothing I can do changes it either.... I've tried everything to no avail, so I gave up. What mattered to me was flat lining if possible after eating and I now pretty much...

    Prediabetes queries

Hello and welcome, entirely possible for many if not most however any diet change is not a quick fix and will need to be maintained probably for life otherwise it will just creep up again. If I were you, I'd concentrate on reducing BMI a few points, this will probably come naturally by...

    Styes and acne

Hello and welcome... Am intrigued how you arrived at a self diagnosis? 3.6 - 5.2 is indicative of nothing other than normal, in fact excellent glucose control.

    The NHS T2 Treatment Regime

My thought on the eatwell plate... In approx 50 years, doctors, hcp,s, scientists the world over will be debating how the world got it so badly wrong with T2 diabetes treatment.... Eatwell will go down as the biggest medical advice disaster in modern times... Unfortunately, it will take...

Absolutely. I wasn't criticising, just analysing. Great result.

    Type 2 Wiseowls Hb1Ac results

great result well done. Although I would have expected a lot lower from your very low fasting numbers. I conclude from this that either you're having high spikes after eating or you are a heavy glycator or have abnormally long lived red cells. regardless, great control anyway.

    Taking BG levels. Why bother?

The only person that can provide you with those answers is yourself, as no two diabetics are the same. And the only way you can find those answers is infact to stab yourself several times a day, this then becomes meaningful data upon which you build your individual plan and way forward. The...

    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

Probably a combination of both... my scales tell me a fat gain of around 0.5% to 16.7% total fat.

Site manager your blood glucose levels are contradictory please fix

I make you right.... Makes sense to me. Under 5.5 is hunky dory, over 5.6 is at risk, 6.1 and over is Prediabetec.... Perfectly clear to me too.....

    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

8lb gain in under 3 weeks, 2lb more to gain and I hit my target of 11.5 stone. All done without negative influencing fbg and without spikes. 800-1000 calorie low carb smoothie once daily plus a large high calorie evening meal.

    Diabetes & Benefits

Tackle it from a mental health perspective. Don't attempt to claim PIP using Diabetes as the cornerstone of your claim as it will be doomed to fail. Unfortunately Diabetes is so prevalent these days that they will do anything to avoid awarding a claim on D grounds as it opens the floodgates to...

A quick question about intermittent fasting.

As I said above, keep not eating anything, over time it will become less significant.

    Lambs liver

Ewww, disgustrous stuff... I just couldn't.... My mum used to force me to eat it as a child, ever since then I'd throw up if I even put it in my mouth.

A quick question about intermittent fasting.

Stick with the intermittent fasting.... The liver dumps will become less significant over time. I went thru the phase of panic during fasting as I was alarmed at the rising glucose too... I was reassured by Jason Fung that it is not a bad thing, it just means you have more work to do to expel...
