    pre-diabetes, fasting blood sugars.

It's actually the number we have little control over... I fast high, compared to many, but I move very little when eating and do drop during the day.... Hence the last A1C of 38. No amount of exercise, weight loss or carb restriction seems to matter. I'll have a new a1c result on Monday...

    Can you help me please?

Haha, man, do your homework before making assumptions... I am 10 stone 7lbs with a BMI of 21 and 13% body fat... I cover around 30 miles per week at 6mph on my feet and am fitter than you could probably ever dream of. I also have the six pack you probably always dreamed of... At 52 yrs of...

    Prediabetes Cals not carbs

I have done this with targeted smoothies.... I was losing too much weight as I just couldn't eat enough calories so I now have a daily smoothie that is low carb but around 1000 cals. Nuts, peanut butter, avocado, double cream, Greek yogurt, berries and water... I'm managing to maintain...

    DKA Type 2?

Hi Hollie, it's rare in T2 but not impossible....

    pre-diabetes, fasting blood sugars.

There is no rhyme or reason to it I have found.... I can be exceptionally careful about my diet and get a high number and on the other hand I can eat a little too much and get a shock lower number... It's all a puzzle... 5.9 for me today.

    exams-teachers help please

For that exact reason they need to know in advance.... They will probably take a look at the pump just to ensure no skullduggery is taking place and move on.... I recall someone being refused a test meter in an exam for the very same reasons....

    Type 2 What is a good H1ac?

Do you have any idea how much impact these spikes have on a1c? I recall reading somewhere that it is negligible amounting to no more than 15% of the overall figure. The reason I ask, I'm just curious whether a spike of 9 or 10 while testing meals has any real significance on overall a1c if...

    800 calories a day

I seem to remember you jumping into every thread of mine and many others with such vigour too in order to do exactly the same against LCHF. If the cap fits.....

    Living Well Taking Control

If it offers the eatwell plate, you can rest assured it is anything but healthy and good for you.... That said, it depends how bad your diet was at the outset. For many, the eatwell plate is what got them into this situation.

    800 calories a day

Phew, there's a relief. For a moment I thought you'd banged your head........

    Type 2 What is a good H1ac?

Lower is better, that much is for sure... That said, post meal spikes concern me more than a1c. Less than 2 rise keeps it nice and stable. I know for sure if I hit the carbs and reach 9 or 10 after a meal it affects my wellbeing for days.

    Type 2 Carbs

Guilty as charged.... I no longer miss sugar or processed food. I do miss potato, but I can live without and bread I just find alternatives. Whilst I'm eating my veg and meat and missing spuds I take solace in the large glass of red that I now have daily with my evening meal and look forward...

    Type 2 Blue badges

But I'm not bickering, Just stating what I know as fact in my local authority and being denigrated for it. For the person that stated his son is in receipt of high rate DLA but can walk, he is still entitled by default to a badge, so this again is evidence that different authorities are...

    Type 2 Carbs

I hated them, I had never eaten healthily all my life. Amazing how your taste can change when your health is at risk though. Complete circle, I now love veg and salads, I realised I had never really given them a chance and this is a major issue for many people. Unwilling to at least try is a...

    Can you help me please?

any T2 who eats 150g CHO a day has to find some way to justify it to make themselves feel better. Just happens rubbishing LC and keto with zero evidence or real knowledge of the subject meets that justification in this instance.

    Low Blood Pressure and headaches/migraines

No reason ever found.... I get them less frequently and less severely now as I've aged but they have been recurrent for over 35 yrs. Always the same headache in exactly the same place. It took many years but I now recognise the symptoms and can stop them before they start usually. Yawning...

    Type 2 Blue badges

So does mine and he qualifies here, again more proof that different authorities have different rules.

And I then went on to correct that on a subsequent post. As I said, please try to keep up.

    Low Blood Pressure and headaches/migraines

I suffered a lifetime since a teenager from cluster migraine. It took over 2 decades of trial and error to find the answer. Nothing used to prevent migraine would stop them and nothing used to treat them would stop them. A consultant suggested I try Zolmitriptan (Zomig) nasal spray in the...

    Type 2 Blue badges

Which is exactly what I said earlier when I double checked, the only automatic entitlement is dla/pip etc, otherwise intervention from social worker or gp. Try to keep up.
