that's where your problems lie, as diabetes progresses you may find you cant tolerate what you used to be able to at the beginning so you need to review and make further adjustments xx

Type 1 Hypo Awareness - does it disappear after time?

it really does help, I lost hypo awareness a year after I was diagnosed, I was sleeping through hypo's and everything, it led to a large reduction in basal also but I ran higher for a short while and could feel low around 4.2 so it can work xx

    Type 1 Libre

it's more of an agreement and everyone that attended education sessions were required to sign one and I'm fine with that

Which blood glucose meter are you using?

BG I use the Accu Chek Aviva Expert, got a silicone cover for it too :) I get the Libre sensors on prescription so use the Libre for testing ketones (when I was first diagnosed I got the Freestyle Optium Neo when I left the hospital so always had the ketone strips on prescription) xx

    Type 1 Libre

sorry but people have been made to test a minimum of 8 times a day to get it on prescription no matter what lifestyle they lead, presuming you have 3 meals a day and before bed there is 4 tests straight away, folk have had to jump through hoops to get it but you seem to think you are entitled?

Type 1, 25 with DME worried about blindness(update)

my good eye is really good, I cant comment on the left eye tbf as I went through school being told my eyesight was perfect to then go to the opticians after I left to be told it was damaged due to a lazy eye that they hadn't picked up on at school (that's why I wear glasses) I was having 3...

    Food ideas

So what are you eating exactly? Have you reduced your carbs? Have you tried switching the time you have your larger meal? Some find that as the day goes on they become less insulin resistant xx

So finally it is type 1.

Personally your lucky that you've been given an option Many of us (including myself) haven't had that, I was taken into hospital one night and put on a sliding scale and not allowed home until I showed I could inject myself Most of us Type 1's still produce small amounts of insulin at the...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

What is your hba1c at the moment? and how long have you been diagnosed type 1 and on insulin? Getting levels down is a marathon not a sprint and it's far healthier to get them down gradually as quickly can do more damage than good that I unfortunately went through myself xx

    Tresiba peaks

I don't think there actually is a peak in Tresiba if I'm honest, I think as it's not as flexible as other basals it's just a knock on effect from doing a few things extra day to day xx

What is the size of the needle in an artificial pancreas or continuous glucose monitors?

if you google specifically what your looking for you may be better off, I don't think a CGM uses needles I think like the Libre it is only a filament you are actually left with and the Libre filament sits 5mm under the skin xx
