Can I cover the Freestyle Libre?

I've used Tegaderm or Cutiderm over mine since I got them on prescription in 2019 without any issues xx

    Number of daily injections

I'm surprised you haven't, many find that in the absence of carbs they have to take a reduced dose for the protein content as in the absence of carbs it does also turn to glucose in the body albeit a smaller percentage and at a much slower rate so finding in a protein heavy carbless meal they...

    Number of daily injections

Like @Maco I'm on Tresiba (25.5U at the moment) and Novorapid, people generally find they only need to cover protein in the absence of carbs in a meal so first thing I would ask is are your ratios correct and is your basal correct, have you performed a basal test recently? xx

    Novo fine needle availability

Can't you phone around other chemist's nearby and see if they have any? I don't use them but I haven't seen anything posted anywhere else about them being unavailable xx

Isolate or not? How to deal with friends who don’t follow Covid measure?

Thanks, hopefully I'll be out of this place soon as me and partner have put in for a new flat so fingers crossed the council deal with it ASAP and we can get the ball rolling, it would certainly make my life easier xx

    Accu chek

Are you UK based? As if so the reason you won't be finding strips available here is due to the fact it isn't a meter used in the UK, not even listed on their UK website xx

    High sugar levels

Only been Type 1 for just over 4 years but have always done an air shot on every single injection to make sure the needle wasn't blocked etc

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I would but there is nowhere to hide them xx

    High sugar levels

Don't you do an airshot each time you inject? That should have picked up any problems sooner than a couple of years on xx

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

They are just on the worktop in a tub, apparently even though I pay to live here it's not my house so in her words I'm not entitled to cupboard space and unfortunately I have no room in my bedroom as there's bags of shopping all over the floor etc as it is with not being entitled to cupboard...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning Woke to 6.8 this morning and had a Lift tab, 7.9 come breakfast time an hour later, I hear a lot thinking well why did she have glucose when she was high 6's anyway but if like me you'd had daily morning hypo's for over a week I'm sure you would also do anything and everything to stop...

    Help. 15.1 FBG this morning!

It can damage eyes more than temporary, it caused me diabetic macular oedema less than a month after I was diagnosed which required numerous eyelea injections, it can also speed up retinopathy if you have background already and can cause neuropathy as well, not just Type 1's as I've spoken with...

    Help. 15.1 FBG this morning!

Please be aware that bringing levels down quickly is not a good idea, it can cause complications, been there, done that and would not recommend it, its a marathon not a sprint

    Libre availability in Bristol area

I would imagine if you are already receiving it then there won't be an issue but would probably be a different story if you were looking to start it, I assume that you have already looked in to swapping GP surgeries and hospital teams so your best bet would be to ask them xx

    Type 2 Eye injections

My D consultant and the ophthalmologist both blame the drop in hba1c for my DMO (101 to 33) and even though I've had great control I still developed proliferative retinopathy in both eyes 2 years into my diagnosis, makes me feel pretty down if I'm honest xx

Isolate or not? How to deal with friends who don’t follow Covid measure?

I have this but its family My grandad doesn't follow guidelines and I feel very uncomfortable with him coming here 4 days a week for his tea but my mum just says it isn't my house and she's entitled to have her dad round I also suffer OCD so you can imagine how difficult things are for me...

    Type 2 Eye injections

@Helen40 I was exactly the same even though I knew they weren't as bad as you thought they would be lol, suppose I didn't have much time to think about it when I was started though as I received my first less than a month after being diagnosed Type 1 :( xx

    Type 2 Eye injections

What type of injections? Is it for diabetic macular oedema? Like @urbanracer I'm not sure what advice you are looking for but if its because of a change of the proffesional doing the injection then some nurses are capable and trained to do them xx
