Like @Maco I'm on Tresiba (25.5U at the moment) and Novorapid, people generally find they only need to cover protein in the absence of carbs in a meal so first thing I would ask is are your ratios correct and is your basal correct, have you performed a basal test recently? xx

Can't you phone around other chemist's nearby and see if they have any? I don't use them but I haven't seen anything posted anywhere else about them being unavailable xx

Thanks, hopefully I'll be out of this place soon as me and partner have put in for a new flat so fingers crossed the council deal with it ASAP and we can get the ball rolling, it would certainly make my life easier xx

Are you UK based? As if so the reason you won't be finding strips available here is due to the fact it isn't a meter used in the UK, not even listed on their UK website xx

Only been Type 1 for just over 4 years but have always done an air shot on every single injection to make sure the needle wasn't blocked etc

Don't you do an airshot each time you inject? That should have picked up any problems sooner than a couple of years on xx

They are just on the worktop in a tub, apparently even though I pay to live here it's not my house so in her words I'm not entitled to cupboard space and unfortunately I have no room in my bedroom as there's bags of shopping all over the floor etc as it is with not being entitled to cupboard...

It can damage eyes more than temporary, it caused me diabetic macular oedema less than a month after I was diagnosed which required numerous eyelea injections, it can also speed up retinopathy if you have background already and can cause neuropathy as well, not just Type 1's as I've spoken with...

Please be aware that bringing levels down quickly is not a good idea, it can cause complications, been there, done that and would not recommend it, its a marathon not a sprint

I would imagine if you are already receiving it then there won't be an issue but would probably be a different story if you were looking to start it, I assume that you have already looked in to swapping GP surgeries and hospital teams so your best bet would be to ask them xx

@Helen40 I was exactly the same even though I knew they weren't as bad as you thought they would be lol, suppose I didn't have much time to think about it when I was started though as I received my first less than a month after being diagnosed Type 1 :( xx

What type of injections? Is it for diabetic macular oedema? Like @urbanracer I'm not sure what advice you are looking for but if its because of a change of the proffesional doing the injection then some nurses are capable and trained to do them xx
