    Sourdough Bread And Diabetes

I'll get some artisan sourdough next week and make the same sarnie again to see if there's any difference. I'll post the results. Along with another picture!

Chunky egg mayo. I love it.

    Sourdough Bread And Diabetes

I thought I'd risk it... ;) My pre-meal numbers have generally been 4.5-5.0 ish. But I don't test that often now. Which reminds me, I should use up my remaining Libre. The bacon was very nice. There was no butter on the bread, but I did dip it in the bacon fat.

    Sourdough Bread And Diabetes

Sourdough is definitely better than ordinary supermarket bread. Although generally no bread is healthy for diabetics.

For today's evening meal I made corned beef hash, with corned beef (obviously), red onions, cauliflower rice, black and white pepper, plus a tomato, with a few splashes of Worcestershire sauce, and served it with garden peas. It was surprisingly nice.

    Sourdough Bread And Diabetes

Well, after my sourdough bacon sarnie, I was 4.7 before eating, and 6.9 two hours later. Okay to have, just not too often. Picture posted here because I'd probably get banned from the Low Carb forum, where I normally post pictures of my food... ;)

That trout looks gorgeous. In fact, the whole meal looks incredibly healthy and tasty!

    Sourdough Bread And Diabetes

Sourdough is the only bread I eat now, though not much of it. I like the artisan house sourdough from a local bakery, but I only have dark rye sourdough from a supermarket (Aldi) which is quite nice. I'll be doing a sourdough bacon sarnie later, so I'll do a before and after blood glucose test...

I don't have a takeaway every Friday, but tonight I fancied one. So I had tandoori chicken shashlik, with a side salad. I've never had that before but it was lovely. @LivingLightly The red colour comes from Masala sauce, apparently, which includes some red food colouring.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

For my tea tonight I cooked a sirloin steak, with mushrooms and cauliflower & broccoli. I didn't realise the steak was so thin, so will make sure I look properly next time. But I did enjoy it.

Mine were from Aldi, @Rachox, but that looks lovely. I miss sprouts, but I'd forgotten that I've got some in the freezer. But you can't beat fresh.

@shelley262 Let us know what the Welsh meats are like. They look delicious, as does your (cold) chicken dinner.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

For lunch I finished off the tub of Greek yoghurt (which expired today) mixed with a chopped up Braeburn apple. For dinner I kept it simple: just bacon, mushrooms and mixed veg.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Didn't feel like cooking tonight. Though I did make a cheese and mushroom omelette for lunch. So this evening I had half a tub of Greek yoghurt, some (bought) chicken breast, and a small packet of pork scratchings. I did spread the chicken out on a plate, and sprinkled it with black pepper, so...

That looks lovely. I've had bought chicken shawarma, and also made it myself. I think I prefer my own, even though it may not be authentic.

What a fabulous-looking spread! I love day old, cold chicken breast.

It was a case of didn't feel like, and it was a bit hot. I did have a CKM a while ago, but never got very high readings. I guess I won't be a hybrid any time soon. The sauce was easy; just mayo, ketchup, lemon juice and a bit of smoked paprika. It was lovely. And I'm still not hungry six hours...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

No cooking today. I didn't feel all that hungry, so just did some prawns with a home made Marie Rose sauce, with a couple of tomatoes and boiled eggs.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

You put me to shame, @shelley262. That spread looks lovely. Feeling a bit deflated today, I had a red salmon sourdough sandwich earlier. I can't seem to get my artisan sourdough. They always seem to run out. So I got some from Aldi. But they didn't have the one I like. So I got the seeded...

I didn't, no, @LivingLightly. It could have done with more cheese, though. I did enjoy it, mind.
