I'll get some artisan sourdough next week and make the same sarnie again to see if there's any difference. I'll post the results. Along with another picture!
I thought I'd risk it... ;)
My pre-meal numbers have generally been 4.5-5.0 ish. But I don't test that often now. Which reminds me, I should use up my remaining Libre.
The bacon was very nice. There was no butter on the bread, but I did dip it in the bacon fat.
For today's evening meal I made corned beef hash, with corned beef (obviously), red onions, cauliflower rice, black and white pepper, plus a tomato, with a few splashes of Worcestershire sauce, and served it with garden peas. It was surprisingly nice.
Well, after my sourdough bacon sarnie, I was 4.7 before eating, and 6.9 two hours later. Okay to have, just not too often. Picture posted here because I'd probably get banned from the Low Carb forum, where I normally post pictures of my food... ;)
Sourdough is the only bread I eat now, though not much of it. I like the artisan house sourdough from a local bakery, but I only have dark rye sourdough from a supermarket (Aldi) which is quite nice. I'll be doing a sourdough bacon sarnie later, so I'll do a before and after blood glucose test...
I don't have a takeaway every Friday, but tonight I fancied one. So I had tandoori chicken shashlik, with a side salad. I've never had that before but it was lovely.
@LivingLightly The red colour comes from Masala sauce, apparently, which includes some red food colouring.
For my tea tonight I cooked a sirloin steak, with mushrooms and cauliflower & broccoli. I didn't realise the steak was so thin, so will make sure I look properly next time. But I did enjoy it.
For lunch I finished off the tub of Greek yoghurt (which expired today) mixed with a chopped up Braeburn apple. For dinner I kept it simple: just bacon, mushrooms and mixed veg.
Didn't feel like cooking tonight. Though I did make a cheese and mushroom omelette for lunch. So this evening I had half a tub of Greek yoghurt, some (bought) chicken breast, and a small packet of pork scratchings. I did spread the chicken out on a plate, and sprinkled it with black pepper, so...
It was a case of didn't feel like, and it was a bit hot. I did have a CKM a while ago, but never got very high readings. I guess I won't be a hybrid any time soon. The sauce was easy; just mayo, ketchup, lemon juice and a bit of smoked paprika.
It was lovely. And I'm still not hungry six hours...
You put me to shame, @shelley262. That spread looks lovely. Feeling a bit deflated today, I had a red salmon sourdough sandwich earlier. I can't seem to get my artisan sourdough. They always seem to run out. So I got some from Aldi. But they didn't have the one I like. So I got the seeded...
